Thanks for removing all fun in crafting.

After desynthing ~30 Artisan's Spectacles and not getting a single Mastercraft Demimateria I just felt like stopping by to say thanks.

Thanks for making it clear that crafting should be limited to people with luck or RMT's.

I should just buy some gil and get the demis needed. No luck needed.

At least you are GSM. My Desynth skills are ARM and BSM, so I have to craft all the trade-in items for an Artisan tool, or gather the stuff for Foragers Dolabra with my miner. with an 80% Success rate I've lost my last 4 Foragers Dolabra, for nothing. More often than not, I get Darksteel nuggets. An Ingot is my acceptable loss, since I cna do other things and profit on it. But an NQ Darksteel nugget? That's worthless to me.

I'm ALC, BSM, and ARM so I know those feels.

I haven't gotten to the point that I will bother blowing up artisan tools, but the desynth is such a disappointment. Not just the RNG, but the absurd imbalance between the ease of leveling some classes and the rewards. GSM is a joke to level and easily the best source of Mastercraft Demimateria, which is quite literally required for progressing your crafters. Not to mention accessories are generally cheaper to craft than weapons/tools and armor pieces. The entire right hand side for Darklight and i90 accessories are all GSM.

Meanwhile, you have LTW, WVR and ARM that have the left hand side split amongst them for RNG. ALCs can't even get Mastercrafts.

Then there is the frustration of succeeding a 75% desynth 3 out of 12 times. Would it be too much to ask to have your desynth increase a bit on a failure if you are going to have Golden Saucer gambling mechanics

RNG is painful when it comes to desynthesis. I've been through over a hundred items and never come across a mastercraft demimateria. I wouldn't be so annoyed if I didn't need THREE of the things to get my upgraded tools.

I'd really like failed desynthesis to give a small skill increment. Even if its 10% of the normal increase it would be a vast improvement than breaking 20 items and getting nowhere (that was with 48% success chance too!).

Yeah, this patch and demimaterias ruined crafting for me.

I just don't feel like crafting anything "new". It has become something really pointless and stupid, the worst RNG implementation this game has had.

Farming Atmas *BEFORE* the nerf was waaaaaayyyyyy much easier than obtaining one mastercraft demimateria. And you need AT LEAST 38 of those to gear all your DoH/DoL classes.


I made a similar topic some weeks ago and the topic not only was deleted, i was also suspended from the forums for 10 days.

I admit my post was a little harsh but i didn't use any words that are not on the game script.

It seems some words are "taboo" to post on the forums but are ok to be on the in-game script...
Or they just don't care about how pointless and RNG-full / skill-less crafting has become and want to "kill the messenger" who points the obvious flaws demimateria stuff and crafting in general has become.

It's just very counter intuitive how they are designing the crafting content. It's just gil sink after gil sink. RNG is an engrossing mechanic said nobody ever.

Even the way the cross-class is implemented just doesn't feel like the right direction. You have all these class-specific skills that feel like they give each crafter their own strategy that they should be going for, but then you hit max level and realize that you are just cross-classing skills from all the classes and losing any identity that your DoH class had to begin with. This design makes about as much sense as letting a Monk cross-class all the Dragoon Jumps.

The new Artisan Gear convinces me this is the direction they are going as now you don't even need to meld class specific gear. Just meld one set of gear and you are good to go. Why even have different DoH classes at this point. Just have the Crafter and give us all the recipes in one class.

I completely agree. One of the major selling points of crafting in this game was that it was not so heavily reliant on RNG. I remember when I used to log on to the game solely to craft. Please bring back the fun and feeling of accomplishment to crafting because as it stands right now it just feels like a chore.

I even have trouble getting 2 star things to work. Hearing RNG horror stories for 3 star or all this demi materia rng makes me more disgusted on trying to get those nice furniture gated behind 3-5 star requirements. Whoever nagged about crafting being so easy and want crafting to be more of a challenge, to result the devs to make this, deserves a slap to the face (putting it nicely, but I thought of worse), and whoever thought that developing crafting to what we have now deserves it as well. Gating things behind so much RNG walls for something that isn't even worth the effort is not challenging at all. It just makes players experience the feeling of "no matter how hard you try, you will still have a higher chance of failing." And honestly, who wants to feel that way for the majority of the time, let alone in a gaming environment?

Not trying to be a downer but if you thinking getting the demi materia is to much RNG, the turn in items for the master II books will prolly make you super mad. As for the materia from specs go you should get around 12-16% mastercraft from what ive found in the 700+ ive desynthed. So doing 30 w/o is kinds rough and im sorry for that

They should add more things that can be desynthed for mastercraft demimateria.
