Weather Effects and Spell Potencies?

I was working on ranking up conjurer when one of the sudden weather changes came in and made me wonder if weather has any affect on combat, or if it even should.

though I was thinking it would be nice if during a storm if maybe lighting and water magics had a higher potency or reduced mp cost/cast/recast times. and maybe magics like earth and fire being a bit less effective. seemed like an interesting thing to bring up though im not sure if weather already affects battle at all or if this would belong in battle environments instead.

Right now weather doesn't effect anything... atleast not according to one of the jp dev responses about having a weather effects toggle.

In the future, who knows.

maybe when it rains you should run slower cause no one likes to run in wet clothes.

I've noticed this as well... for a desert, thanalan gets a hell of alot of rain.

putting a bit more thought into it, time of day could possibly affect thaumaturge spells. also... i think the black shroud might be the only place with only 2 weather types being clear and rainy with no windy(i have not spent much time in mor dhona yet but the time there i have spent had a fun prismatic effect). though as it has been said, it could affect more then just spells, such as accuracy, defense, and attack damage. maybe with certain weather conditions also working with peoples elemental alignments in point allotment.

side note... why is there a time of day/current weather condition thing on the UI... one would think thats already quite obvious
