I know about Katon and Doton for 3+, but how many enemies should there be before spamming Death Blossom overtakes spreading Mutilate + Shadow Fang? Is multi-DoTing even worth it when we have single target debuffs like Dancing Edge and Trick Attack?

My personal guess is that it's worth it starting at 4 mobs. I'd happily be wrong though, I really dislike it when spamming 1 button becomes more effective than pretty much anything else you could do.
3 mobs death blossom, 2 or less multi dot.
I'll show why 3 mobs death blossom is better.
DB spam - 300 - 600 - 900 - 1200 - 1500 - 1800 - 2100 - 2400 - 2700 - 3000 - 3300 - 3600
MD mobs - 150 - 350 - 450(1) - 670 - 940 - 1100(2) - 1400 - 1740 - 1980(3) - 2300 - 2670
Very rough draft of potency, but the break down of math would be annoying to scroll through so I simplified all the dots into potency. Basically once you finish doting the third mob (3) you will have to re dot the first mob with shadow fang.
If the 3 targets will live for 30 seconds it's best to mutilate each then DB
1DB on 3 targets is 300 potency where a full duration mutilate is 360
Shadow Fang is 2 hit combo of 150+440 making it 590 over 2 GCD's where two DB's on 3 targets is 600 potency over 2 GCD's and 2 Mutilates that will tick for full duration are worth 720 potency over 2GCD's
So if 3 targets that will live for 30 sec, you mutilate each, if less than 30 sec you DB spam and if 4 targets or more it's always DB spam.
