Make Duty Finder have separate iLevel requirements for weapons

Why is the weapon only 1/12th of the average item level equation? I think square should consider making the weapons a separate part of the item level requirement at this point, with how high the ilevels are getting on gear and how much easier they are to obtain. New players skip a majority of the old content and queue right into to coil with all the i100 gear thats so easy to get now.

Weapon ilevel is a much larger factor overall than an i110 accessory that probably isn't even for the players class. It's a little frustrating trying to do roulettes sometimes and having a player roll a level 50 class they clearly don't have gear for just for a faster queue times. :mad:

I'd actually be on board for this, since WD is the biggest part of the damage and healing calculations. There's simply no excuse to enter Coil or ST and see someone with a i55 weapon and a bunch of i100-110 jewelry they got from leeching in Hunt parties for Soldiery and Allied Seals.

At first I was going to disagree with you but you make a pretty good point. Players are suppose to do the hard mode primals so they can at least get a level 80 weapon then they can either try for levi or relic. So it's pretty stupid to be walking around with a level 55 dark light weap in content pass item level 70

I got stuck in Titan HM once with a Monk who had an i37 weapon... it went about as well as you would expect.

So yes, I would definitely be in favor of this.

Why? It is really easy to get a ilvl 110 weapon now, sure it may require a few runs of syrcus tower, but the ilvl 110 soldiery weapons will be even good enough for Turn 9. For newer players it may be a struggle but running syrcus tower shouldn't be hard after obtaining relic and farming a few bits of soldiery gear..

Why does everyone have the mentality that you need 120+ ilvl to do Coil and 2nd coil.

The natural way of gear progression in this game from newbie to raid participate is pretty easy and short lived, you can farm an entire soldier set now in about a week including weapon.

I'd ask that of the players with alternate classes (who have weapon levels less than i55). I have an i110 weapon on black mage, summoner, bard, and white mage. And I'll be upgrading my i95 weapon for scholar this week. So seriously, what excuse is there for not at LEAST having your i80 relic? Or i70 from one of the hard mode primals? It just doesn't make sense, and greatly hinders the parties ability to complete a dungeon.

i45 is perfectly fine for stuff like Wanderers Palace, Ampador Keep... which also drop weapons better than i37 or i45.

I completely agree, turn 9 was cleared with players who were only i95 from what I recall.

I think that's the point. It's pretty easy to get a decent weapon, but the current system gives weapons the same weight as rings (well, 2 rings for 2 handed weapons). They should either revise the stat weighting (ie. weapon constitutes ~1/4 of your ilvl) or add a secondary requirement specifically for weapons (ie. req. ilvl 80 requires at least an ilvl 70 weapon).
