Regarding the new artisan items coming out in 2.4

I would like to remind everyone that all artisan items SO FAR have been untradable...meaning those looking to make TONS of money by stocking up on oaknots to make these artisan items RQ, are just going to end up with them for themselves.

on a side note, FINALLY. I can't wait till I can just have all my crafters in the same set of gear. Also, do you think they'll have HQ/NQ or materia slots?

This is the first time we are crafting artisan gear. They are i60 not i70 like the glasses, so they are pretty diferent.
Probably oaknots items wont be tradeable (sealant) but the items themselves as they are crafted, will be, now, who is going to sell those considering the time consumption and for how much, is a totally diferent topic, each of those items goes from 2 to 4 days of ixali dailies so... mhhhmm... lol.

Seems like it would be needlessly cruel to make the MIN/BOT offhand items only available to crafters.

EDIT: I know they're not 'artisan' items, but Forager items have had more or less the same acquisition methods thus far.

These new craftable items are for the off hand. All the current artisan and supra level crafting gear is for the main hand. The new artisan level off hands will probably be very similar to the militia off hands we use now, but with higher stats and a higher ilevel, if I had to guess.

Also, as crafted items, I fully expect these to have materia slots, wheras previous Artisan items were unmeldable. Materia prices are gonna go through the roof, if this is true!

I guess we'll find out soon.

Not needlessly cruel, the Beast Tribe dailies were supposed to kickstart people into crafting. The new crafted DoLH gear is a natural extension of this, but does favour those who have taken up crafting a bit more.

tl;dr: progression across all classes to avoid feeling gated.

Welp, they're tradable, but they need materia. eh, not the worst situation i foresaw. at least the classes share

That was the impression I got as well. Since I didn't need exp and didn't need an alternate/cheaper means of acquiring the other items that were available previously, I didn't bother with Ixali. None of the beast tribes have ever been essential. They get you a special mount and the ability to buy certain materials cheaply, but it's not like you had to go to the Sylphs to get your Daystar equipment or anything like that. No one saw this Ehcatl Sealant thing coming.
