Cover + Cooldowns??

Hey guys, I have a quick question regarding cover. I know cover only works on physical damage and I know if you use hallowed ground and cover someone you will still take full damage from the cover (at least during my tests in pvp I have found this).

This makes me think your defensive cooldowns might not work at all with cover. Has anyone tested if using a different defensive cooldown (ex: Sentinel, Rampart, etc...) works in conjunction with cover?

I have not confirmed it myself, but I have heard that whatever damage the covered player would have taken gets transferred to you, without allowing you to mitigate it ay further. So it looks like cooldowns would not work for that damage (neither should shield oath, by following the same logic).

I THINK you DO mitigate it by your defense (on your armor) but not by your abilities. So its not like you would take 6k from a melee attack from a boss like a WHM would if you are a covering a WHM.

I've done it with the OT in titan a few times when healing has slacked and a MB is coming.

Cover them then pop hallowed not sure about CDs like foresight etc.

Ii don't remember off hand but I used hallowed grounds to pick up the 2nd add in T7 once due to 1st not dying in time or OT facing away for voice and I didn't remremember taking any sdmg but as I said I dont recall exactly
