If Crafting is a Support role why do stats affect it?
I'm a terrible Alchemist/Goldsmith.
I've been trying to HQ things since I've been r50 in both but have had very terrible luck. I remembered about this post near the bottom in the Discipline of the Hand section.
Quote:
The effect of attributes on synthesis is limited. When attempting to craft a high-quality item, however, the likelihood of success increases as the attribute most closely associated with the tool being used rises. As the attributes associated with the main and off hand tools of each class are different, players may wish to give careful consideration to the class on which they wish to focus. A list showing the attributes related with the main and off hand tools of each class can be found below.
For an Alchemist to HQ more often it depends on if his stats for the appropriate tool are higher. Main hand being INT and Off hand being PIE.
For a Goldsmith it is DEX and INT for Main and Off hands respectively.
My problem is that I'm a Lancer. So I put most of my stats into STR and VIT for a bit more durability. So there's no way in hell I'm going to pump stats into INT and PIE for a crafting class when one point reset isn't enough to make a difference either way.
So back to the topic...
If Crafting is being pushed to a support role rather than the original team's idea of crafters and gatherers being classes unto themselves shouldn't they also be freed from the Stat restrictions placed on them by the original team?
I would love to have the same chance to HQ as any other crafting class while still being able to play as the Fighting class I enjoy most to the best of my ability.
