Impatient/rude players

OK, I may not be perfect on this game, but I do try. I noticed in later dungeons how other players start getting rude and impatient with others, to the point of ridiculousness. I just had a group of people I was with kick me out of their quest because they failed to tell me what the monster we were fighting did, how to beat him, what to watch out for etc. They literally told me nothing and said it should be obvious on how to beat the boss.

Gets tiresome dealing with rude people on this game. Like I said, I do make mistakes a long the way, but I know I can't be all in the wrong, especially if other players aren't helping each other sort of thing.

All kinds of people make up an MMO. Sometimes you get players who are willing to teach new players the mechanics of fights and offer friendly advice on playing the different classes. Sometimes you get groups like yours who don't want to explain fights, who want everyone to get it right the first time, new player or not. I will say that I've met many more kind, helpful players in dungeons than I have impatient/rude players.

I bought this game at release, but I didn't really start playing it until about 3-4 months ago. I would (and still do, though not nearly as often) slip up in dungeons and mess up some mechanics, but I always made sure to go in to each dungeon knowing the fights. There are a number of useful guides for the dungeons and trials in this game. I personally watched an MTQCapture video every time I unlocked a new dungeon or trial, just so that I was semi-prepared for each fight. Mizzteq's guides are short, but give all the mechanics of the fights necessary for success.

If you would rather avoid spoiling the dungeon by watching or reading a guide (which is fairly common), you can guarantee a run with helpful people by joining up with a friendly Free Company, if you haven't already. It can take a lot of pressure off new players to run with people who you know will help you out in a fight and be patient while you learn it. And since you are a fellow Brynhildr player (hello neighbor), I know there are a lot of new player-friendly FCs to choose from. Just find one with people you enjoy being around, and once you learn the ropes, share what you learned with other new players.

You will always have runs with rude players, every MMO has them, but I promise the nice players outweigh the mean. I hope your runs get better, and that you enjoy your time in Eorzea.

I do still think its wrong the attitude of some players though. Someone else kicked me out of dungeon too even after I explained I was experiencing bad lag. You can't please some people. Most people are nice though, especially in the earlier dungeons.

I don't think I've ever really been mean to people on the game, throughout my run. I mean, we're all paying the same amount to pay, and I sort of think people should have respect for one another in the community. Its not Call of Duty where its free to play and there's a bunch of 12 year olds playing (I assume). I guess I may have to change my tactics if I think someone is being unreasonable in the game.

First lesson: If the run is your first time, please say in advance without being asked. A lot of time, the newcomers never say anything, even after being asked (because they were afraid of being kicked for being a newbie), then have no clue what to do. Vet/Exp players are not stupid and they can see right away through your performance whether you are new or not. I have zero tolerance for those who is new, but not say anything then mess up the fight, I kick them straight away upon realising.

Second lesson: Listen to the instruction and act according to the instruction. Nothing piss the Vet/Exp players more than a first timer doing whatever he/she want, ignoring the instruction, then mess up the fight. Kick is always the result for such behaviours.

Third lesson: Learn to take criticism and when to put a stop to those criticises. Acting like you know everything about the fight despite you know naught is a sure way to get you kicked. And fighting back with insults will produce the same results. It is harsh, I know but you have to learn to deal with it, not fight back words with words and Report player is there for a reason if you feel you are being insulted OVER the line.

There are a lot of reasons behind kicking a player out of party and often that most, it is not because you are a first timer.

The only thing that kind of rubs me the wrong way is if the new player doesn't interact with you at all and you are desperately trying to explain things to them e.g. tanks that don't know what flash does and people in boss fights that don't follow mechanics even after being told multiple times *cough* titan *cough*. Its always good to keep communication with the group going, if you're on ps3/ps4 Id recommend getting any old usb keyboard and plugging it in to type.

Also only listen to constructive criticism, ignore the "omg n00b" people, they are not worth your time. Get into an FC if possible and you can get help in dungeons from them or read guides online. There are usually guides for dungeons for tanks, healer and dps so you can read/watch one suited to your profession.

How is that a abusing vote kick system? There is an option deserving a vote kick is "Harassment". By not saying you are new DESPITE being asked nicely at the start of the fight, failing to follow instruction, doing w/e they want and think they are contributing, and because of that attitude, he/she is wasting other people times and that is a form of harassment. It is not like "Oh hey you are new. You fail. Kick". Vote Kick is there, so we have the option to kick those kind of people without sacrificing our time or face the penalty for leaving mid-way.

Note to you guys that I am not forced anyone to follow my way or any of so-called Vet/Exp expectation. However, if you are new, not knowing the very basic of the fights, better not trying to be a wannabe hero and piss people off but rather follow the instruction, understand the fight, not there to show off yourself in a wrong way. Do teacher kick the stubborn students and those who fails to follow instruction out of the class? Yes they do.

I did. You have your standards: Say when you're new, listen to me, don't fail again, otherwise kick. Thats your statement. However, you can't force any player to follow your standards. Simple as that deal with it by not using DF and go with peeps of your mindset. Yes, it is annoying if someone doesn't want to listen or learn, but that is DF. Abusing Vote Kick is not the way to go.

You sure are fast on answering, are you not?
And never once in my post, I said listen to me, did I? I said listen to INSTRUCTIONS!!!
And I never say I would kick those are new, you are new ( no answering after being asked) + Fail to follow INSTRUCTIONS ( not necessary to be mine)= Kick.
And my kick, alone is not enough to kick anyone. It is the majority rule. Sure I can be a jerk and initiate the vote but only when the majority agrees with me that the individual deserves to be kicked, be kicked.
And not just only limit to DF, when I join in any Duns via DF, I expect that kind of behaviours already, then again, the majority rules. When they are in my party, I have the whole right to do things that within my rights as a party leader, given any individual is holding the group back or being obnoxious, intoxicated, anything that will damage the benefit of the group.

If you're new it helps to say it but omg it takes less than a minute to explain the strat for dungeon bosses, if we wipe the first time I'll explain it and we'll try again. It's not that big of a deal.

Honestly you just have to learn to not take things personally and not care at all about those people. They're just sad, laugh at them and move on, it'll improve your experience a lot. Don't be afraid to leave a dungeon with unpleasant people, it will still be there after the cooldown, it's not worth running it if you're not having fun.
