Relic's vs Mythic Weapons - Me thinking too much.
1. In regards to Relics.... I kinda feel like the game is treating them the right way. Relics in the past are supposed to be the rarity, the item that takes months to complete, that requires a substantial grind, that's kinda it's own status symbol. While most of the things to do are tedious, this kinda falls in line with how relic weapons were done in the past.
FFX you were doing endless blitzball games, or dodging lightning.
In FFXI It required substantial farming/money and going into Dynamis, and when I left the game, relics, while becomming more accessible, were far from being the every day item we see now.
So as the game progresses, and we carry these weapons through patches and expansions, stands to reason there will be less of them in their "final forms" but more options instead for people who want to skip the content, and that seems pretty right.
2. But has their been much talk of what's to become of mythic weapons as content expands? Mythics in FFXI were part of Aht Urghan expansion, and evolved much like Relics. But I can't recall if SE had mentioned if that would continue to be the case in this game? Personally I'd love for it to, more options are always nice things to have, though I'm not sure what would distinguish the two items, unless they keep Mythic stats locked vs. Relic.
Personally I'd love for Mythics to have quests that involve killing time fate spawn things, such as Behemoth/Odin, which would no doubt bring back the popularity of those fights. I'm not sure what the right number of fights would be, but utilizing that or Ex Primal kills to meet criteria for enhancement could be fun little grind in itself. And a bit more specific than the light farming of Nexus.
Anyhoo, done ramblin for now.
