Expansion Info

Is the next expansion gonna be a big update or will it have to be bought and downloaded? I've been wondering this quite a bit and can't find out anything about it. >.<

At this point, all we know about the expansion with any certainty is that it will be 3.0.

As for any other details.... Please look forward to it.

You most likely wont have to buy it

This will be an expansion not an update. If SE follows their normal practice then there will be a charge for it. They usually run between $10 and $20. By the same token there will be a great deal more content then with a normal update.

My guess is more than likely it'll have to be bought, but probably won't be much. All of FFXI's expansions were like $20.

If it follows the same model as FFXI and with it's expansions it may have to be bought...or it may be free, we will surely know before it is released.

You've had to buy every ffxi expansion. I don't see this being any different. It has a solid enough player base now to warrant being paid.

FFXI expansions at their release were $30-40, so I would guess would be least $30 for the expansion for XIV

Every MMO I have ever played... an expansion was something purchased.
