Multiple house on one account abuse

Since I thought of this a long time ago (but didn't do it since money is useless in this game so I didn't really care anymore), I wouldn't be surprise if others have thought of it or done it already. What I mean is buying multiple small houses on multiple alts in order to gain access to the garden. Small houses are 10 times less expensive than medium houses and 20 times less than large, making them MUCH more cost efficient if you just want the garden.

A solution for this is to make houses limited to one per account per world and let all alts on the same world share a house. There are down sides to this as well but with the limited housing spaces, it wouldn't be a good idea to let multiple alts each have a house anyways.

Another solution would be to increase the garden limits per house, which would drive down the prices of crops and eliminate or lessen the advantage of having multiple houses.

Yet another would be to increase the prices of small houses. Even though small houses are cheap, only the fairly wealthy can do this since it requires a fairly large investment to buy multiple of them. Given my knowledge of the economy in this game and how easy or hard it is to make money if you put in some effort, I think 2-4 mil is good price zone for small houses so I don't particularly support this idea.

To achieve your idea, why not suggest NO SHARE for house for above situation.
As then an account cannot manage all ALT's gardens by his main char,
and the garden products are split on each ALTs, which is very inconvenience,
so by doing this (as current system), it actually discourages ALT housing ^^;
Moreover, it also discourages ppl use another account to purchase multiple houses.

Yea... Except we have server issue with housing. We don't live in a perfect world and limitation need to be placed.

On my server, you would never ever make enough gil with gardening to be worth it if you buy multiple houses. So this always amazes me when I see more than 1 person buying a house because of that.

There should be pre-req on buying a house to be honest- character must be level 50, character (not account) must be x amount of days old. A server transfer can't buy a house until 7 days after transfer. Must complete a quest (?) To able to buy a personal house. The quest will be after Ultima easy.

I thought there was some pre-req already of being level 50 and having a rank of 2nd lieutenant within a grand company?. As I couldn't buy my house until I swapped my character to a GC where I had a 2nd lieutenant rank.

I have no idea because I read somewhere (forgot where) a lvl 20 brought a house. Unless they meant a alt took over a fc which - should also have the same rules on making or taking over a free company. But the grand company pre-req is super easy. If they add the gc pre-req and a quest after a certain part in the story, like after you 'finish' the main story. Then I don't see a problem :3

Currently the principle is one char one p. house. , if you have many char, each char can buy one house regardless the effort of each char. It is not abuse. ^^;

You have to be at least 44 to do Dzemal Darkhold, which is required for the rank below the rank you need to be able to buy a house. As far as main story goes, you only need to be a couple quests past Ifrit (level ~20) to join a GC.
