New Housing Patch Makes Sense - Serious Discussion Only

Currently houses cost the same for the same type of house, no matter if it's an FC or a individual that buys it.

This makes sense, a small house that's 4m for a FC, is still a small house for an individual.

Does this make everyone happy?

No, it doesn't. - In fact, it puts FC's bind to get housing faster for their members, before individuals buy them.

Should the small house only cost 1m for an individual?

No, the difference between a company and an individual buying the small homes is merely the involvement in a community.

Should there be instanced rooms that allow gardening/ect like in wards?

Yes, because the game shouldn't require everyone to be able to come up with millions of gil. - Keep in mind, they would be instanced and not persistent to visit like the wards.

In the end, SE kept housing consistent, and I can appreciate that, even with the grind it took for our large house.

I dislike being lied too. If they had just told us this upfront, that they had changed their mind, then fine, I would have known, and dealth with it accordingly.

My experience with large and medium FC houses is that they are only paid for by a very small number of players. These players can also afford to buy the house they want, many are crafting and garthering with little end game. I mainly craft, I miss out on a lot of end game as my time goes to making gil. Others are end game only and aren't much for crafting. Many are in the middle. With the last live letter and SE talking about gil sinks, the prices maybe high now but a month from now they will sell. The same happened at 2.1 FC pricing was high and there was much less gil in the game at that time. In the long run, the house is meant to be yours for years to come as the game grows. Not a 5 day rental. Myself and many crafters invested heavily in mats to sell to players buying housing. That is on hold now, in a month or so homes will be bought and the economy will work its' self out.

Personal housing should not = fc housing.
That's what has me raging more than anything. I fully expected, ESPECIALLY AFTER MAKING US WAIT SO LONG, personal housing to be different, new zones, maybe a different way of being implemented, I don't know. I expected different. Not exactly the same fcking thing.
The prices are a secondary point of butthurt for me. What I'm foaming at is the fact I've waited all this time for what? Nothing, it seems.

Well, lesson learned, that's two disappointments regarding housing, guessing it's just not worth getting excited about. Just means I wont be spending this week doing up my personal house as I'd hoped.

My problem is that they didn't create anything NEW for personal housing. They are reusing everything they already have.

My other huge problem is that in their laziness, they are using it as a gilsink. While I agree gilsinks need to happen, as already mentioned, it's been done with FC housing. Personal housing did NOT need to be used as another gil sink.

What I imagined is a similar housing district but with an organization of small houses. Every player can buy a house the same size. Maybe a different layout, color, decoration, walls, etc. but the same size with a little bit of land.

Edit: And to edit my post, I bet a lot more money would be immediately sank if each small house was 2~4M depending on waterfront, etc. because way more players would be able to do this upfront.

A: We were lied to
B: Even doubling the wards is not going to be enoug houses
C: This is like reinventing the wheel, we had to wait this long for something that already existed?
D: I read your FC has a large house, on servers like ragnarok all houses are sold out, even if you grind you cant buy it. You would probably respond differently if you did not have a house yet.
E: We were lied to (same as A I know) but its so bad that it can be said more then once.
F: Everyone pays the same weekly amount (more or less) and should have access to the same possibilities in game as everyone else. Obviously if you provide (as an example) 10 houses to 1000 people, this is not possible.

I think this is what many of us had in mind. I, personally, don't need my personal house to be as large as the smallest Free Company house. I would be fine with a one story house with the interior as large as a personal room in a Free company house, or a two story house with rooms slightly smaller than a personal room in a Free Company house. A small plot of land with which to put some decorations on and a few garden plots. When I step outside my house, I see a suburban like area filled with personal homes the same size.

I don't know the technical requirements for such a feat, but I can't imagine that it could be any worse than the Free Company wards we have now.

Only real gripe i have is that they just extended the FC housing permits to single players, and do you really think its fair/reasonable to expect a single person to come up with 70 mill, or (amusing they can wait for the price drop and not have a FC grab it) 35 mill? Sure thats for the largest plot but after being promised that personal housing would

It's litterally telling us one thing then giving us the exact thing they promised wouldnt happen. Is it lore friendly to make them the same price, or is it logical? Sure but is it what they said it would be? Absolutely not and that is what is unacceptable! Literally raising peoples hopes only to dash them with a Phyche! totally didnt say that bait and switch.
