I guess this only meant for legacies mostly since they would've more experience on this and requires subbing 1.0.
And it seems like the old 1.0 RNG trend are back in the game again. lol

i liked the rng for most stuff from 1.0 much more.
in arr you still have to deal with rng, but the difference is when you beat the content you only have one shot at getting the piece you are after. in 1.0 the drop rates were low on gear like the atma drop rates, but i had stuff to do 7 days a week instead of only getting on for my set raid nights to run with my static groups.
I liked how it was in 1.0 better as well. Run something a lot of times with low RNG instead of run dungeon once and be done. I'd also like how CT is for Coil, then I'd be doing it with friends to help them get loot. Just anything to make me actually play instead of playing barbie dress up 90% of my time.
I never want to deal with 1.0's RNG ever again, having to do Ifrit god knows how many times in pugs wasn't fun at all and was enraging especially how the servers were terrible too and you would get hit by plumes despite being out of it in time or just dealing with bad players who have no clue what they're doing.
I'll take the new one. There's nothing like running a turn 27 times only to see that the first piece of High Allagan that dropped is, of course, not the one you need, right?
I do a lot of things besides endgame raiding, like chocobo leveling, crafting and selling, gathering and a lot of other things that if I had to spend the entire week farming Coil I wouldn't be able to. And yes, the 1.0 rng is definitely back, but let's leave it where it's at and not bring it to raids... Boy those ponies sure are fun to get.
Imagine the novus with 1.0's melding system.
The horror~!
Yes, melding also counts as RNG... not everything is centered around raids.
1.0's simply because the gear itself was far more interesting than (base attribute) +1-40 and (sub attribute) +1-40.
This T9 Clearing Warrior made a guide for Warriors and suggests the best accessories for BiS Warriors is all 5 i90 Ruby penta-melded accessories.

Raids and Melding arent exclusive of each other ;p
I liked the RNG from FFXI.
It shot arrows, bolts and bullets.
It would be good if expert dungeon chests not only drop gear and mats, but also grade 5 dark matters. This would be a nostalgic feeling for us 1.x players ^^
Killing Ifrit x times, hope to get the wanted weapon this time and get dark matter 5 instead.
Running hamlet defence x time, hope to get the last beastmen seal to start the relict quest and get a dark matter 5 instead.
