Weapons Systems
Wielding a unique weapon is the very embodiment of the character's energy; to fight for example. There is an abundant of weapons to choose from, which is good. The problem is however, the restriction of weapon access to the character's level, or below. Thus, players are apt to change weapons to match their new level. This detract players from experiencing the powerful connection with their weapon. I would prefer to choose a cool weapon that is suitable to my class attributes, and be able to modify and increase its abilities over a certain time. Although, yes, I would also like to be able to change over to a more powerful weapon after a certain progression.

have you tried glamouring weapons yet? you could upgrade to new weapons as you level to the look of one you like, then go for your novus once you get your relic, which you can change the stats of. you can also add materia to many weapons to customize their secondary attributes a bit. just a thought...
