"The Hunt" Question About Elite Marks

Ok so we all know the "billboard" added rewards have a weekly lockout (ie. that you can only get the billboard bonus once a week, but you are still free to hunt as many elite marks as you like and get seals from killing them)...

My question is since there is only 1 elite mark bill issued per week... is there a respawn timer or anything on that mark? Will this just become a zerg like Behemoth/Odin where most players will never see these elite marks because they are not only a rare spawn, but once they pop they get zerged and don't appear again for several days?

If anyone has seen official answers to the above, please link to the source. Otherwise, a dev response would be appreciated.

1 week to find one specific NM really isn't that long of a time.
My only worry is that the bill will expire on me before I even see the NM.

It's not that bad, if the NM respawns after other players kill it on the first day. That is the question.

The issue here is that people will pick up the elite bill and kill the NM within about 20 minutes. But if that's it, just one spawn for 7 days.... it's gunna be rough for most players to fulfill that bill.

That kind of info won't be available till launch, really. We'll just have to wait and see. It could be that the higher ranks spawn less often, or they're just stronger. No real way of knowing yet, though.

Hopefully the spawn will be player-triggered in some way, like walking down a certain path in certain weather will make it spawn or something. That way it can spawn as many times as necessary.

Hmmm... Based on the information in the recent Producer Letter, I'm led to believe this won't be the case. I would think that there would be too much opportunity for exploit if the spawn was player-based. I'm just hoping it's not 1 spawn per 7 days X_X

I don't want to see hardcore player hunt them down before I even have a chance to do some score and get rewards (Look at Animus Book FATEs, you sitting there somewhere around and saw FATE you want to do it popped up and then you immediately chocobo there as fast as you can but BOOM! FATE complete and I got zero points, wtf moment)

That is the problem with open world contents. You got the quest, know the mob location, rush there? Mob zerged out before you reach there.

So did they say anything about the respawn rate?

Why didn't you wait at the FATE spawn area?

On another note...I too share concerns regarding the spawn/re-spawn timers of the Elite Marks. They mentioned in the Live Letter that there will be no claiming system. So if I see someone attacking the mark I can come up and get credit (similar to the way FATEs work). If someone kills an Elite Mark they would have to set some kind of spawning system to prevent abuse from Gil Sellers and people looking to get all those yummy alexandrites the first day. minimum to kill. My hope is that the super elite marks have a variable spawn time between 6 - 12 hours to prevent abuse (however this will make farming them a nightmare). I think the best option is for people to make "Hunter LS" and invite as many people as possible in the hopes that these marks will take 15-20 people

Yeah I fear that may be the way it goes. Similar to Behemoth/Odin, if there are no respawns on these elite marks, people will need to create Linkshells to notify as many players as possible when they are up. It's our best chance to take part before the mark gets zerged. Hopefully though there is some sort of respawn timer within the week that the elite mark bill is posted.
