Guildhests? GUILDHESTS!

So, has anyone else been wondering why we haven't been getting a monthly dose of new Guildhests?

It's almost like everyone forgot about them!

It'd be neat to see 3-5 new Guildhests every major patch, ranging from low level to hardcore.

I personally think quite a few of the ones we have now are really fun, but I'd love to see more of these mini scripted battles!

Exactly!

They could do with so more love. The buff to reset the EXP bonus on each of your classes was a good start!

You know it's funny, I ended up skipping the quest to start them as I figured I'd get some of the side quests when I came back to level another class. New players are really left wondering what they are. Figuring out which levemete I unlocked first to find the battlemaster was not fun.

Please, can people stop asking for 'hardcore'. If you want proper hard core play another game.

Have you tried to get a group for the last few it's close to impossible even as a tank or healer. The funny thing about guildhests is that it's supposed to introduce you to groups gameplay but it has the opposite effect. Each guildhests focuses on a specific thing: it kill their healer, avoid poop and guess what - it's the last thing people do. SE do their best and put a massive box in front of you that tell you what to do and guess what, people still fail. How many times has the tank killed that turtle rather than kite it to the bag! That being said it would be nice to get level 50 ones where we could use all our abilities.

You know, you can always play another game if that frustrates you.

I always liked guildhests. When I first unlocked them I looked forward to doing the two new ones every five levels, and I did them as soon as I unlocked them. I think SE was pretty clever with how they tried to introduce game mechanics to new players, it's just a shame that these guildhests get ignored. Especially when the rewards for doing them on new characters are actually pretty decent.

Personally, I think they should add hard-stop mechanics if you don't follow the guidelines for the guildhest. People don't learn mechanics if everyone in the group ignores them. How many times do you see everyone just rush the big group in the first Guildhest? Or ignore the adds in the second?

Make it so if you ignore the mechanics then you die, fail, whatever.

They were supposed to be optional tutorial fights which is why they probably feel they don't need to add any more. I disagree, however, since they're not very good at teaching at the early levels how to use their mechanics because they're perhaps a bit too easy and they're also a little biased against new player Marauders at first.

The first two prevent new Marauders from using their AoE enmity ability because you're synced one level too low. No it's not required but it'd be nice to let them learn about it, especially since SE made the first hest a swarm of mobs and the second about learning how to pick up adds, and Gladiator *will* have Flash at that point since the hest is level 10 and Flash is level 8. New player Marauders cannot get Flash unless they wait till at or after 15 story quests and unlocking and leveling Paladin to do the level 10 hest...not exactly hard, but not exactly fair either, and what brand new player would be expected to know about that?

That aside, some more difficult hests would be nice. At all levels. Make two the tutorials, and then one to two where you have to use what you learned in a more difficult battle. Reward it with a random class specific aetherial item for all participants or something. Doesn't have to be huge. And maybe put some ones that are boss fights similar to what the Hydra/Chimera trials are that'll use some weaker, non-fatal version (unless you keep messing it up) of techniques that say Primals use (Titan.).

if you refer to overpower , it was possible to use it few months ago , but they patched it so id assume its intended that way , having played it was warrior before and after patch i support that change because it makes the fight slightly more difficult , overpower there was a bit overpowered :D
