SMN DoTs not registering on Behemoth?

Ok, so last night Behemoth popped, mad rush, lots of people.
I Throw my dots and start hitting fester. I see it doesn't have an effect the first time. I realized that my Dots were not on him. I run my dots again and notice, now only bio 1 is on him.

I have it set so that i only see my adverse effects on a Mob, no one else's. same with animations/damage/text. I see nothing of what anyone else is doing, except the buffs on my party window.

So my question is this. Is there a limit to how many DoTs can be on a mob? Are mine being kicked off?

If he or odin pops again i'll make sure to test and get a video.

It's just lag because of the sheer number of people.... Happens when I hit up Odin or Raumuh every time

Sorry... Raumuh? Ramuh??? there are such thing?

There is a limit on how many dots can be on a mob. The limit is absurdly high, but it's easily hit on Odin/Behem.

This. There is a limit. SMN (and SCH to an extent) are the worst classes to bring to Odin or Behemoth for these reasons. I suggest bringing BRD and keeping your distance (if you play Foe's it helps boost your aggro meter) or tanking them. A WHM may also be a good option, but healing can be quite spotty during these events.

SMN is a pretty cruddy class to do for Odin/Behemoth due to the DoT limit. I find myself playing BLM since the only DoT we have is Thunder and can output good raw damage just relying on Fire/Blizzard. BRD has to rely on 2 DoTs for a good portion of their damage and well..I don't think I'd want to be in melee range in that fight to do MNK or DRG. :P

Thank you for asking this. As a new player myself, I did Behemoth for the first time this past weekend as a summoner, and I thought that my dots were being resisted because of my ilvl gear (currently ilvl81). So thanks to everyone for the clarification.
