Game Does Not Launch After Hitting "Play"

I've tried a few methods on the support site but have been unsuccessful in getting my game to launch. I am able to enter my information, patch, but once I hit the "Play" button, the client does not come up.

I'm opening the game through Steam. System is Windows 7 Enterprise, the Steam client is running as admin.

I was able to access the game and create a character on a different computer, but can't seem to get the game to launch on this particular system. Any advice?

Try opening the game directly?

The game was installed through Steam. Can't be opened without Steam running.

Try this download don't know if it will work then kick steam. I've steam consistently cause issues in many mmo's and it would not surprise me if the whole problem was steam.

Hmm probably there's a xivboot.exe on FFXIV's steam installation folder.

Getting the message that xinput1_3.dll is missing. Perhaps this is a DirectX issue?

That is a directx file. I'd try to reinstall from microsoft. http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/downl...ils.aspx?id=35
