Why does it take so long to get back in game after a D/C

This is the only game I have ever played where if your power blinks for 1 sec or your ISP has a 1 second issue you get locked out fo the game for roughly 15 minute. Why is that?

For some reason, after certain types of connection loss, your souless husk of a character just stands around for 15 minutes and keeps you locked out, since you're already there.

We call it Coma D/C.

The servers seem to be prgrammed to wait that long before they time you out, it should just be a simple number change in the server program to shorten the timer, but who knows lol

I was having this problem previously, but after the last patch, I have been able to log back on instantly, and the number of times I have DC'd had gone down dramatically. I would practically DC once or twice an hour before, now it's rare to happen unless I afk in a city for a while.

When this happens to me I just try to log in once, and then it says that it failed.
And after that it works. Everytime! =D

Pretty sure on this as well, it should be set to 5 mins at the most to time you out. Surely a change to this wouldn't be too difficult.

simply put; because your character is still on the server and you can't have two instances of the same character on the server at the same time. The server is waiting on a response from your PC, until the server has decided that it's been long enough w/out a response that you must be disconnected, your character is standing there doing nothing.
