What I would Love to see back in this game .

More Life to the environment
Open World Content (NMs,HNM,Force Pop NM)
I know they can not change this but would be awesome Casters/Healers would go back to scrolls.

No. We really don't need any more things from XI. I love XI, I really do, but I didn't start playing XIV to relive XI.

Player base want a soul less game. Everything is quick and easy access with no resistance.

Your signature and your post give me a sad. FFXI is more than a decade old -- it's time to move on and start living in today's world. FFXIV is made the way it is for a reason and 2 Million subs later I think it's safe to say it's working.

To me, when you say something like this you devalue all the places the devs clearly have listened to us. Were it me in their shoes, this would not make me want to listen to anything you say because I'd just feel like you'd never acknowledge it anyway.

Scrolls were a horrible idea in FFXI... So you want to play this caster? Too bad, you have to pay 3 mil for this very important spell.

NMs are fine and all, but no crap like HNMs. Who really likes sitting there for 4+ hours waiting for a mob to pop that will just be claimed by whoever has the best bot?

Something I would really like to see in this game is an expansion of the materia system to be more like FF7's. I think they should add special materia slots to weapons that add new skills for each class/job/role(can be taken off without destroying the materia like in FF7). This would allow some form of customization among players and would certainly make the game a lot more interesting. Also, I think they should make non-instanced versions of the dungeons that have strong enemies(with rare drops), treasure coffers, and NMs, along with burning circles/beastman seal fights from FFXI.(similar to primals, but are made up of an enemy party you have to defeat. They drop a wide range of items, instead of 1 accessory/weapon for all jobs)

The materia thing is a tricky beast to take on. You can't make new skills a part of it for two reasons (one of which is simply a contradiction to the way you feel about scrolls). The first being that something like new abilities/skills essentially make that materia a mandatory thing. Unless it were simply cosmetic, that is. When it comes to stats and abilities, customization does not exist in MMORPGs no matter how much we like to dream it possible. It just... isn't going to happen in those situations. The other reason being that you would essentially have the exact same situation as the scrolls in FFXI. Want to be a DPS? No ones going to take you unless you buy this expensive/important materia for your weapon.

BRING BACK TRAVEL, make teleporting way more expensive, anima was at least better than gil.

I don't mind Duty Finder, if you just want to log on and run a dungeon or two sure, but travelling between cities should at least be a slight chore. Even other MMOs have something like the Chocobo Porter as the fastest travel, a minute or 2 to move between camps.

Because honestly, I loved teleporting at the start, but now I realized it destroyed any semblance of a MMO world, the world feels so small, so lifeless, I will have no problem forgetting FFXIV and moving on to the next MMO when all it is is a themepark. But thinking back to FFXI I have tons of memories, the first trip to Jeuno, travelling between cities, or heading up north , Yuhtunga jungle, cape terrigan and way more. Even the crag teleports at least dropped you off 5-10 mins away from the city.

But if you're rich then you deserved it, reward yourself with an expensive city->city teleport fine. Otherwise for normal players a city should feel far away, either gil or ride your chocobo.

No, no scrolls for mage spells. Lol.
