I play a SCH so I am familiar with macros, I have just about every one of my actions on my hotbar tied with some sort of a macro. I am just wondering what the basics are for SMN macros or could you at least point me in the right direction of a thread with them listed? I want to start playing my SMN. Just wondering things like, do you macro Raging Strikes with something and do you macro your pet's basic attacks with your attacks so they also attack when you have them on obey? I am a console player on PS4 just FYI. Thanks!

You macro swiftcast and res together. You can also put Swiftcast and summons together but it doesnt always work.
You use a <TT> macro with eye for an eye so you can throw it on your tank without getting off the enemy.

Oh, and setting your Egi on Obey will make them use their auto attack when the cooldown for the autoattack is finished. No need to macro in the attack to your own. Obey is even used to reassign targets. Egi's attacking the Spiny Plume? Use Obey on Garuda and the Egi will ignore the spiny -

Sorry but your combo macros are highly inefficient. It's highly unrecommended to use GCD abilities in macros as such because it's much slower then you using the abilities yourself. SMN already has a slow ramp up time compared to the other DPS. Like this you're ensuring you're even futhur behind.
Believe me when I say that .5 second GCD you're losing adds up over time very quickly. Let's say this is during the first 10 seconds of a fight. I need only 2.5 seconds max to get off all I need. 7.5 seconds I already have my 3 DoTs up, I've already used Fester and I'm working on either Shadow Flare + Contagion or Miasma 2 + Contagion during the GCD depending on where I need to be positioned for the boss. For you: 10 seconds and you've just finished your first Fester
Another thing wrong about your macros is how early you seem to be using Virus. Virus is best saved for when you know a big attack is about to hit. If you waste Virus as such and the boss readies his attack "Oh crap Antibody's up"
Looking at it, you most likely won't get 2 Festers during 1 Raging Strikes duration because of all the seconds you've lost relying on Macros and that extra .5 second you're using per skill -

Let's be real.. highly inefficient? Not the words I would use. This is only an opening combo that I use at the beginning of a fight and not used again since a SMNs rotation changes throughout the fight. I am ALWAYS 2nd on list when there is a BLM and 1st when there isn't.. So, I hear ya, but do not agree with my experience.
I believe your math is off dude. In 7.5 Seconds you have all 3 abilities + Fester, takes me 8 seconds not 10. (Honestly cant believe a debate of split seconds)Quote:
