Maintenance needs to be done, it's unavoidable & in the best interest of us the players. Yes it sucks that it's on a PH, but tbh 2hours isn't long ^^
just for the fun of it, been a while I didn't see one of the threads :p

Let's have a maintenance free server, but no one allowed to complain about lag, bugs an no content added :p
it's maintenance, you know to maintain the state of the servers. would you prefer them to leave the servers then? i bet you would come back complaining of a server crash or something...
Because whenever maintenance is involved, it will hit one of the following conditions:
1) A holiday in (insert country here)
2) The exact time ~I~ play
3) The only day ~I~ have off
4) The exact moment I go "Gee whiz, I wanna play some Final Fantasy XIV!"
I work in this kind of field for a living. Whether the maintenance is at 4 in the morning, or 3 in the afternoon, someone always gets inconvenienced (usually the guys who have the deploy the code -_-'). That said, I feel your pain, but such is the rub with MMOs. Ya gotta take them down to deploy the code, then make sure everything comes back up happy. Least this game has generally quicker maintenance, where it's only a couple of hours (save for big patch drops).
Oh the horrors the server was down for 2 hours. That leaves you 22 hours left in the day to play. What will you ever do.
Seriously, it is not a big deal. Servers need maintenance to keep the game running smooth and to address issue. Take nap or something during that time.
Don't think Easter is a big thing in Japan. So that might have slipped their minds.
