I have a feeling SE staggered Hatchingtide out as it has happened to fall at the same time as the PS4 version launch, meaning SE are probably wanting to allow new PS4 uses the chance to participate, but because of the level 15 requirement, to allow them time to 'catch up' a little.
The staggered quest release schedule isn't the problem for me as more so the requirement to duo with someone else, and once you've done the quest, you can't help anyone else with it - at least one of my friends has had to miss out due to the fact I've already done it with my partner and I couldn't assist them with it as well after already completing it. Ah well.
You can assist people who have already done it. You just need to party with them while wearing the appropriate hat. You don't see the NPC or have to carry an egg. You just have to be in the party. I've done the Limsa one several times now.
That would be nice... except when I usually play the towns are empty and no one is around. Not to mention that pretty much everyone I asked who wasn't currently doing it said no.
It's not the chapter stagger, it's the fact that to do this I need another player and during non-peak times that's just not gonna happen.
I guess what I'm irate about is the fact I've been standing here for 2 hours waiting for someone to come along for a whole 5 minutes of quest (and it's still a no-go)
Yes I wish it could be done solo too. I've decided to not go any further with this quest line because the hassle of waiting for assistance from another player. From doing past seasonal events I think there won't be much here to miss out on.
Really? Well, I don't know if we were doing something wrong, because that's what we were trying and it was still throwing up 'Character is not equipped with the appropriate headgear' or something errors, even though we were both wearing the required, different, headgear (I was wearing the Pristine cap, my friend the Brilliant cap). I think I'll try it again with her though - I'd hate to see her miss out on this (especially when there's a possibility of a once-only attainable achievement at the end).
Yup, the one person I found to group with me and we get 'Character is not equipped with the appropriate headgear'. Hour 3...
edit: and of course now I have to log... Thanks SE!!!
