Party Finder isn't supposed to be used like this. (I guess...)

As you can see... issue not resolved via Support Desk.

Now... I wonder what would happen if every crafter started an all day long advertising like that (yes the guy is renewing the PF entry every hour). Flooded PF list?

Bringing this to everyone's attention, I do hope measures are going to be taken (against the issue, not the guy) before worst case scenario happens.

I see no problems with it, there are no rules stating that Party Finder is solely for doing dungeons. It is there for people to group together and find ways to interact together without the need of an almighty RNG based system that is Duty finder. The crafter is simply using resources that is available to him, he is actually making effort to be heard in a way.

The only thing I got from this is you don't like a long list.

You seem to have forgotten your image, but I'm pretty sure I know what you're talking about. Short of banning the people who do it (which would be really stupid, this is hardly banworthy) I don't see how else they could address it. As long as there's a text entry field to type whatever you want, this will exist. And removing the textbox would be terrible because it's quite useful for people to specify if they're making a learning party, experienced party, farming group, or whatever.

Honestly I don't even mind it so much, because you can filter the Party Finder to show only the particular duty you're looking for, or you could, y'know, scroll down.

Heaven forbid you use the search function in the party finder list. They guy is using resources available to him in a way that doesn't inconvenience you, so why complain?

How is this causing you any harm? What about it is picking away at you that it is causing you such irritation? Like seriously, grow up a little. Nothing wrong with crafters actually trying to do what they like doing. SE hasn't given them any other way to sell their services besides marketboard. We have Duty Finder and Party Finder.

EDIT: You report people a lot. Over some silly stuff it looks to (besides RMT spam). Should really learn to chill and remember it's a game.

I think SE figured people would understand that the name itself is implication enough of the use. There really shouldn't be a need for them to explicitly say what something called "Party Finder" is meant for, especially when you consider the options for activities you have available to select. Advertisement of services for things that are not part of the feature itself is misuse, harmless or not. At that point, it becomes a question of how abused (and disruptive) it becomes to determine whether or not GMs/SE need to step in. Imagine RMT spamming the party finder lol. They'd simply be using the resources available to them afterall. Yeah, you could filter, but I don't think anyone wants things to get to that point. A few people advertising things isn't a problem at all, and I doubt SE will do anything. But if it gets out of hand... you can bet that they'll have to step in. I doubt legit players would end up getting things to that point though.

it is not an issue

Better advertise it in PF rather than shout or yell function and spams.

completely ignorant to compare the 2. 1 is a player actually playing the game and going about doing things the right way and the other is breaking tos selling gil for real money. one is a bannable offense and the other is not.

agreed completely.

also add in that if rmt's were using it then it would be bannable in the first place as even them sending tells is bannable because rmt's are against the tos. it's not even worth it to compare the 2 since one is legit and the other isn't.

SE could bring an public annoncement board ingame so people can write their stuff outside of the PF.
