Regarding Luminaries.

Are Luminaries going to be used as glamour items only in 2.2?

I saw that they updated the looks of the workbenches, however with the newly released main tools, what else will Luminaries be used for?

Those Luminaries we sank gil and time into will be nothing more than a fleeting memory in our glamour crystals. Oh well, I saw this coming a mile away...I'm more disappointed that Blacksmith (one of the better crafters in 2.0-2.1) is now pretty much junk.

Yeah I doubt that they plan to add a way to upgrade your luminary tools (although that would've been a good way to reward players who spent hours farming for those achievements).

As it stands, you'll have to glamour them onto your new tools after you complete the tool upgrade requirements. They were probably never intended to be anything more than a vanity thing anyways.

I was disappointed with this change as well. The new Crafting Main hand tools are going to be level 70. Compared to our level 50 Quested Tools / Luminary Tools there will simply be no contest in stats. I really think these new tools should have been used in our "Off-Hands." Who wants to keep using these visually generic "Off-Hand" work benches:

it's called progression. yall can stick to your 'i walked 10 hours in the snow'. i'd rather look forward to moving onto newer better things.

I thought this was expected. Every achievement item thus far has been useless outside of vanity.

However crafters/gatherers have a lot LESS going for them than DoW/M classes. So it sucks that one of the cooler (and useful) items from 1.0 has been reduced to a vanity item. Its like we're taking steps back not forward with DoH/L. So much fun potential with crafting and gathering having their own classes .... wasted.

I would personally have liked the option to upgrade the luminaty instead of getting the new dull i70 ones...
