Would you pay a higher sub for a cash shop free MMO?

Personally I do not like FTP-style cash shops. But at the same time, I understand business have to make their money. I would not mind paying a higher sub to ensure this game is free from FTP type bait-and-switch tactics and transactions. Thoughts?

Why should we pay for someone else server transfer?

I would if SE can provide me with an accurate fiscal report showing that they are losing money based on their current subscription rates. I would pay a higher flat rate than p2w crap anytime of the day.

For FFXI pre abyssea, probably For FFXIV? No.

What exactly is enough? There's no right answer because the worth every player puts on the game is subjective. What might be acceptable to someone else might not be to you.

If inflation is a universally accepted concept that applies to almost every consumable in our society, then I don't see why mmos should be exempt from it. Like many have said, SE is a company first and foremost and profits will always be the primary motivation.

Naturally players that have been paying the same rate for years would be unhappy to suddenly see an increase in subscription rates. So if SE wants to circumvent this problem without transferring the burden of cost to the consumer, the only logical recourse would be to slash costs resulting in lesser content, slower bug fixes, less creative content etc. This is the problem I see with most games nowadays.

Now I'm not saying that I'll happily donate my monthly income to SE as some posters seen to insinuate, but I'm happy with the game enough currently to not be adverse to throwing a couple of dollars more per month to sustain the game if it is struggling financially.

I don't see why people are getting so worked up over this. If someone wants to pay X dollars to change their looks, let them. Its not like they're going to be selling weapons or items like that. (Perhaps weapon skins though, which I would be all for) If they want to add in little commodities to enhance someones playing experience without undermining those that don't care to purchase the products, then let them. There are such a thing as non p2w cash shops, you know.

Way to twist things LOL. Even SE admitted they went a weird direction with Abyssea.

Anyway, Gamers proven they'd rather pay for items than a sub, even Yoshi admitted this in a recent interview. Look at "Early Access" games and how they're popular - I wouldn't pay a higher sub for something that will inevitably happen because people spoke with their wallets - The answer the companies got is: "Yes you people want a cash shop in all forms of MMO."
