Players Loot on items then leave before finshing the dungeon?

I was running Dzemal Darkhold one time and the healer we had was Needing/Greeding on the winning loot. After getting the loot in after the second boss our healer leaves the run without a word. I was rather surprised, so we ended up waiting for another healer to get in. I learned now that this has been happening to my other Free Company members. People will loot on the rare items "then leave" in the middle of the run and sell them on the Margret Board.
Dose this happen a lot? :confused:

I guess it depends on the person and their reason for running the dungeon.

If they are running specifically for a piece of loot, then yes it could happen a lot.

Unfortunately most likely you are going to find this happening in Dzemael Darkhold a lot especially since the body pieces look like swim suits and sell for hefty amounts on the market boards. It's silly for people to do but I have come with terms of it. This will happen in dungeons such as Satasha -> Halatali as most as sellable on market boards. Just have to deal with it and hope the next run they might actually stay.

Yikes, is it really this bad?
I haven't had an issue in Satasha with people leaving (and trust me, I've been through it a good amount).

I'm a bit disappointed in people, haha.

Ya it's unfortunate that this is the way some peeps think, but be grateful that it's not a true reflection of the rest of the community! :D

It's a dick move, but it happens all the time. Its worst in Darkhold because the loot actually has value (As said before) and Aurum Vale (I've had 5 tanks quit on me mid dungeon when they hit 50).

At least people quitting dungeons are usually decent enough to eat their DF timer. I can't stand people in CT who beg to be kicked after a boss, and then simply refuse to do anything when you tell them to eat the penalty or play.

They should make a that way if ppl leave mid-way through, every Exp/items/Allagan (basically everything) that they got from the dungeon will be lost, along with the time penalty and a chance to have the whole party report on them because as soon as the person leaves they should do a party survey asking why the person left and if they want to report. If a vote happens and everyone leaves then thats fine, you leave the dungeon with what you got, if it is a vote to kick then the same rules of the "ditching" applies but only if the person was kicked because of mean reasons, if the person got disconnected and kicked then thats fine, something like this would make ppl think twice about quitting half way. Its not fair to the DPSs cuz the long wait for something like this to happen is not fair, they should really fix the dungeon system and that includes the loot system, the DF system, the bosses, the fact that they put the same DPSs in the same team and we get stuck with 4 of the same DPS class.

I'd support a "leave dungeon on purpose, lose drops you got"-mechanic, but reporting people for leaving is going a bit too far. If they're losing their drops (including any allagan tomes they might have received so far) and get the 30 minute lockout, that's punishment enough.
This would definitely have to distinguish between people leaving on purpose and people getting disconnected or kicked. Which would mean it'd be easily circumvented by someone who wants out simply shutting down their Playstation or ending the ffxiv.exe on their PC, waiting a few minutes to get kicked for Offline, and logging back in.
