2.2 suggestion : make the tomes gear prices like rank 30 pvp

i think the 2.2 AF gear tome prices should be akin to it pvp counter part.for those of you doods who doesnt know...

pvp direwolf (best pvp gear atm) requires BOTH rank 30 in pvp and 4k worth of wolf marks (pvp equivalent to pve tomes and btw pre 2.15 the gear costed 8k) per items.i suggest that 2.2 tomes gear should be expensive, require a certain rank to use said gear and all the dungeon that drop tomes be like how it with wolf marks points :small.

And yeah, knowing SE they'll go with what they think works rather than using innovation. New Tomes: grindy 'casual' end-game gear. New coils: HARDCORE gear. New CT: 'I don't have time for that' gear/vanity.

That would never work. That would just add to the daily grind making people more irritated. Wiping in a dungeon when "farming for tomes" would result in a lot of loose cannons and a lot of people being over-all unhappy. Also PVP is horrible and a horrible example. PVP is a complete failure.

So for people who aren't in FC's, who haven't done coil because recruiting group require ilevel 88 to 90 gear and knowledge of all the turns and have beaten them, have absolutely NO chance of obtaining those gear sets until the next portion gets tossed in the DF like 1-5 will be. So basically while the FC's who have multiple statics that can run it religiously and obtain the gear, a vast majority of those who can not do it will lose out? SE would never go for such.

I'm happy with similar pricing and cap to what ARR had for myth at launch. 300 per week cap, 495 for Gloves, 825 for bigger pieces etc.

They need something to differentiate the coil 6 - 10 and new tomestone gear though and 'm not sure what'd be the best way to do it....

Guess having the new coil gear be slightly higher ilv than the new tomestone gear would be the simplest way but I don't like it much, feels like a fairly cheap way of doing things and it could lead to awkwardness with builds (as some of the ilv 95 coil weapons already have).

For example:

New Tomestone Tank Chest ilv 110, PRY and DET secondary stats.

New Coil Tank Chest, ilv 115, Crit and SS secondary stats.

Obviously with the ilv's the difference in points for the main stats wouldn't be much so anyone who's MT'ing would probably be better going for the New Tomestone Chest.

this would be a great way to levitate the end game lockout by having a player to achieve a certain to get gear. this way, players will be working for both tomes and rank level to progress.

you mean like how it is now? all my idea does remove tomes locks and replace it with a grind that will takes months until the inevitable nerf, so we casuals will catch up later

in your opinion, i think pvp in this game is a great example to go by. pvp requires each player to grind our way to the top. we dont have roulette bonuses (although we need some) for a pvp player to get to rank 30.every player will have to player for weeks (or 1000 wins) to just the rank. there are us players who started in 2.1, who hasnt reach rank lvl 30 yet.those players who are in R30 are truly awesome as some of them got their rank and gear before the 2.15 buff. those players are totally respect as they went thru crap to get to the top.the grind is what keeping pvp alive.

how will they lose out? my FC isnt has a coil statics outside the FC as most of us dont care for coil tbh, yet the progressed to coil 4 and working on 5. as how coil is design now and in the future, the hardcore will always be on top, while those without FCs and casuals will have to either chose : PF coil or wait until the echo buff implemented.we are already exlcuded and cant do the hardcore content always. that point is moot.

My point is, more and more people are requirig ilevel insanity to get content done. a lot of people aren't going to be able to complete said content. Lets use the PF as an example. I got into a i88 requirement "weekly" group for primal weapons. This is my 3rd weapon im doing in my down time. Rules were 2 fail=kick. i88 for requirement?should be a breeze right? said "leader" wiped twice on garuda with in 5 minutes. refused to remove himself from the party and started kicking others. I know PLENTY of people i72, i70 even i68 who play a lot better than those making requirements for PF groups. But those people will never get the chance to do the content to find a static because the static requires an insane ilevel when people were doing it in i70 gear before the whole itel level number was even implemented. Now because no one wants a challenge and wants everything handed to them on a silver spoon theres no challenge. How can someone learn the coil if no one gives them the opportunity. Honestly, the people who cleared coil going up to turn 5 in full DL, THOSE are hardcore players. The players asking for full i90 item level aren't hardcore.

tl;dr by making the gear in coil better is going to cause a lot of players to get even more pissy. Unfair this, unfair that. why should I wait for the echo buff blah blah etc. It's not even about the hardcore anymore. It's about being handed what you want with no effort.

I don't want it to take months just to freaking get AF2.

I want it to be a challenge, not another grind :3

only one thing to say:

PVP=/= PVE, then what work for one, don't means it will work for the other.

finally, for them a player must spend between 2 at 3 hours of playing per day. without forget that the content must hold until next patch 3 month after. they will then calculate a number fitting this 2 idea.

ps: and it's good to remember that gear are not a goal, but a way to reach the goal... beat higher challenge.

I agree completely about ilv restrictions. However, that's a community enforced rule, not a game enforced one. The only way to stop the majority of the community from being lazy about ilv is to remove the feature in PF altogether, because most players affected by this are just going to get to i85+ and say "I had to go through it, so why not you too."

Consider also that 2.2 will likely see a myth cap increase (again), as well as difficulty decrease, so the current endgame will be replaced with newer, more difficult content.

The problem with ilv restrictions will remain, and the player-enforced ceiling on avg ilv will likely increase too, but at those who never got the opportunity to experience coil content before will be able to access it through DF now (can see the ragequitting already, though).
