Is it just me or is it bypassing the shields?

Quake bypasses everything.
Yeah, a lot of the AoEs in CT bypass buffs (I assume all, but since I've mostly healed all I know for sure are Galvanize and Stoneskin. But the poison from the left path also bypasses every defensive buff, just doing a flat 200 damage every tick, so I assume everything that bypasses SS and Galv also bypasses self-buffs as well)
This does make AoE healing with Succor a real pain if you have 2 SCH...
o.o whats the point in succor being used then if its shield doesn't do whats it meant to
So it wasn't just me imagining things then. o.o" Unless your party is terrible at dodging his AOE, there's no point for the Succor shield to be up. I'm better off spamming Physick and Embrace on 8 people separately.
His Ice spell does too. Ignores shields and stoneskin.
Since they're pretty close in his rotation, succor still seems like a decent spell to buffer everyone for the next hit.
Of course, Whispering Dawn will always be a better option since mitigation is out the window anyway.
This seems like a poor design decision. Scholars don't get the massive AOE heals that White Mages do, so making AOEs go through our AOE mitigation feels like it makes SCH just flat out less effective than WHM on this content.
Are you all 100% sure it isn't just the sheer amount of stuff going on in the field causing the 'barrior buff falls but the icon fails to vanish' error?
I know from experience that Quake III will do upwards of 2500 to a Dragoon set up in full Myth gear.
