The "Saving the Economy" Super Thread! (ideas to save economy)
I keep on seeing many ideas posted here and there on the forums to save the economy, however, they keep on getting buried and no one really has the opportunity to really discuss them. This thread can serve as an ongoing forum for players to give ideas on ways to save the economy. I myself have a great idea involving materia changes along with loot drops from dungeons, but I will post that on a response, to keep the OP clean.
Materia & Dungeon Loot Changes
I have a great idea to help give the economy a super jump start. I will begin by stating that no one seems to use Materia for any pre LvL 50 gear. I believe that the main reason for this is because it not a simple process to attach materia to gear if you are not a crafter. The only other reason could be the cost, however, low lvl materia is super inexpensive and easy to obtain. I also notice that there is absolutely no market for pre lvl 50 gear in the Auction House, because it is so easily attainable through dungeons. There is also so much materia available in the AH, because the majority of gear attained through dungeons is convertable. This leads to the economy being flooded with materia with noone to buy it.
My plan is simple:
#1 Make materia melding & attatching a passive skill learned as soon as a player reaches level 10. This way, everyone will all of a sudden be using materia on gear, because it is so easy to do.
#2 Reduce the stats on pre LvL 50 dungeon gear & Make ALL GEAR received through Dungeons & Vendors NON CONVERTIBLE & UNIQUE. This will make it so the only way to obtain materia will be to purchase crafted gear from the AH & convert it to create materia.
These 2 extremely simple changes will make for an instantly invigorated economy & vibrant AH Market. Not to mention crafters that actually can make money through crafting, and gatherers that can finally make money by selling materials to crafters. The only negative would be taking something away from crafters in the way of materia melding, however, I believe strongly that what they will be gaining will be so much greater.
