Duty Finder

Square Enix,

Please add the ability to group for the duty finder roulette. I am tired of being subjected to the random duty finder. I have a Free Company because those are the guys I want to group with, not some random person. Nothing worse than getting poor group make up. Just had a group that had two bards. Worse possible group make up ever, imo.

Please, please, please, add group queuing now!

Y'know .. I'm happy with the duty roulette being solo. You can always group up for the dungeons/instances you want to run after you run the once-daily roulette for the bonus. Heck, if grouping with your FC is that important to you, just run the dungeons and avoid the duty roulette, and forego the bonus, just run the dungeon a second or third time instead.

It is more the fact that I am forced to just group with random people. The duty finder does not take into account group make up. The lower level stuff doesn't matter, but the high level stuff is frustrating when you get a poor group make up.

That would defeat the entire point of the Roulette unfortunately. Especially for the lower level dungeons. You're getting that bonus BECAUSE you're being rolled into a group of randoms. If you were able to group they'd take away the bonus.

Seriously, this. You want to group with friends only? Fine, you don't get the bonus for joining with random people, which is the point of the duty finder. To get more people to help get groups faster. Your bonus for joining with friends is more predictable runs.

One thing i do wish, is if i could select multiple duty categories, like story and high, and just go to which pops first. I don't really get why you can select multiple dungeons, but with DF only one.

Either way though nothing within the roulette is so hard that job makeup is going to make or break anything.

I think if anything, Roulette needs to be kept as is. The entire point of it is to provide an incentive to form groups with people that you don't normally interact with. Not only does this serve to prevent people from becoming insulated from the rest of the game world, but, far more importantly, it helps provide the necessary help for newer players to get through storyline dungeons and their first end-game grinds.

If Roulette was given over to party play, then the path to 50 would return to its original state - grueling grind, with 30+ minute wait times for virtually every dungeon in existence, especially for DD.

As others have said, you can always ignore it if you'd like; the bonus was given in exchange for you serving the greater population, not yourself and your own preferences.

My only complaint about low level duty roulette is you get ppl who are impatient and want to speed through it not taking into account that you have new people who want to learn the game. An example is I go to low level dungeon via roulette and I'm tank but I get a sch who wants to go and pull multiple mobs just because he wants to get out of the map asap. This is unfair to the new ppl and myself as I am tank and I'm suppose to look out for the group to make sure they don't get aggro. When ppl want to rush low level dungeon, they only are taking away the learning aspects from new ppl.
