GILGAMESH appreciation thread.

with gilgy coming to a realm awoken at some point very far away, I wanted us all to come together in the spirit of togetherness (or something like that) and discuss our favorite leading man, the hero's hero, the guy who can two shot your party and lives to make you regret ever underestimating him under any circumstances.
i'm referring to noneother than our eight armed badass himself, the mighty GILGAMESH!!!

Regardless of how bad they were, gilgamesh's appearance in 012 was considered canon and it's even implied that he defeated feral chaos solo. in any case he IS officially the same guy in all of his appearances, his ff11 appearance being tied in with his type-0 origin sidestory via the perfect resemblance.

I never said dissidia was canon, I said gilgamesh's appearance in it was. as was his downloadable appearance.
if you're looking for logic, remember, gilgamesh is not a logic following character, he's similar to deadpool in the 4th wall regard, though not nearly as clumsy with it.

in FF5 when he saved us from the necro guy. Was pretty fun seeing someone you beat up a few times come back and save you because he respected your skills. (/spoiler for FF5)

I like the implication from FF12 that there is only 1 Gilgamesh across all Final Fantasy games.

I really hope when we eventually have to fight him (and given the fact how

the current Hildibrand questline ends pretty much shouts to the player 'you'll be fighting him soon', it's all but guaranteed,

, he'll try using what he thinks is Excalibur on the player, only for it to do 1 HP damage. :p

I also hope my namesake will show up as Gil's flunky in the battle too - that will make for an interesting chat log: "Enkidoh Roux defeats Enkidu" ;) ('Enkidoh' was how Square translated 'Enkidu' in the first PS1 port of FFV circa 1999).

And Soken must do an epic arrangement of Battle With Gilgamesh/Clash on the Big Bridge for the Gilgamesh fight - it just wouldn't be the same without it. ;)

I hope he comes with an instanced (party) battle, on the Thanalan Highbridge, of course.

I would like to see the fight happen with Gilgamesh using a random weapon for each attack. If his attack damage/pattern is random it could make for an interesting fight. Also a remake/remix of Clash o the Big Bridge is a given.
