People hate on ffxiv because you are doing the same thing over and over again. Leve's, Crafting, Behests, Grinding. Then they complain about lack of "end game" content. Let me pose you this simple conundrem isn't end game content the same thing over and over again? I played WoW for 3 years, had 3 80's end game content consisted of running the same string of instances over and over again. Or doing daily quests that are the same quest every day. Every mmo is the same thing over and over again, what xiv lacks is compelling story right now. And the introduction of the side quests is a step in the right direction. The announcement that they are going to implement advanced jobs (XI'sh) that must be unlocked was a major draw for me to come back. The only thing keeping me from playing at this time is hardware issues. Constant R0, and high gpu temps with graphics settings so low it looks worse than 90% of the mmo's I have played, or am currently playing.

Most of the entertainment from that game is derived by the player vs player component and the competition among players for land and resources. All the major storylines in the game are totally player-driven. The developers don't have to do a thing.
Now, FF14 can't really do the same thing, especially in light of the devs' stance on PvP. However, that doesn't mean they can't foster more player to player interaction and competition.

It would take old content that no one is interested in anymore, and give new reason to do it again.

ROFL... this important stuff ends up being the same thing over and over and over again. It is all the same thing in the end, you play a game to pass time, to kill it, not to accomplish some life changing goal. Inherently games are not important for anything other than time sinks. Unless you are actually making a living playing the game, and getting paid for it... then you are WAISTING TIME! No matter what ultimate goal you think you are achieving. -

At least in WoW you received good gear, granted they haven't had much time to implement much endgame content with the fixing of the battle system and all, but come-on I hope they really didn't think that the HNMs they put would keep us busy, personally I hope these dungeons they are about to pump out make me crap my pants.

I have yet to see a game with heavy emphasis on gear distribution from quests and bosses do anything but devalue all crafting but consumables... What can be said different from FFXI is that even there isn't as much to do compared to a much 'older game', as a community with prior experience can say there's enough to keep us busy connected. Hell, I'm wondering if most of you are still connected to Vana'diel (FFXI) and appreciate the difference of gameplay and continue the supporting other players. I'm linked FFXI:::FFXIV, Sylph:::Mysidia. :cool:
We need more side-quest for sure. I'm good with the game mechanics and all but they seem to be more focus on UI and AI. My PC is a pretty decent one and didnt cost much to built (under $500) so I think with the current specs it should be able to run on the PS3 just as normal settings permit if not better.;) -

Learning to solo stuff was always my favorite thing. Gearing up to where you could take down high level NMs was awesome. Or my weekly attempt at soloing NW Apolyon (Never was able to get past 2nd floor). But that is where the fun was!

I also miss the strategy from FFXI over recources i loved camp NM HNM the long pop timer made them hard to get but it was also wery joyful you got the item.
I can under stand people with short play time not liked it but there should be options for both i hope in future.
Many things now its made wery easy to fit bigger player base but doing all to easy destroy alot for people who wanna spend some time have some competition also.
I hope there will be content for people with alot of play time and people with shorter playtime in future updates.
Some ideas i got.
Example NM HNM please make some harder ones also now it takes 1-3 hour to obtain the items i wanna see NM HNM where you maybe have to spend alot more time effort to get.
I loved the HNM hunt in FFXI where you had to drop all run to Tiamat for example it was tactics and nice battles in same time.
You had do decisions had you people enough online kill claim how many other people was on way you had organize the jobs and so on.
Another idea for the future HNM say for example Tiamat there could be one version you fight instanced with faction points.
Could also make instanced areas with PVP combined with HNM where you have to fight HNM and other linkshells on same time.
Areas you enter where alot NM HNM mobs and other linkshell have big battles trying kill nm and have to fight other linkshells on same time maybe a shadoworld you can enter tough mobs and NM and other linkshell all VS all.
I also hope where you enter instances in future please make them in diffrent options i wanna see the instances where you can fight the NM in diffrent difficulties and also get reward for it make 1 2 3 star where 1 2 3 star stones can drop for 1 2 3 star faction fights. I wanna see possibilities for higher reward i you play skillfull or do harder content.
A complete shadow zone to this world where the NM have longer spawn time can drop 1 2 3 star items where you can fight other players and aggro mobs everywhwere.
I want some competition please SE !
