Unable to Accept quest "The Best Inventions" from Cid, cannot progress

Steps:
-Completed pre-requisite quests Opportunity Knocks, All By Ourselves, and Factual Folklore
-Went to Cid for next quest. The main scenario quest icon is displayed over his head (it is not red).
-Click on Cid - nothing happens.

Type of internet connection/provider: Windstream / DSL 1.5mbps

#edit: I wanted to include that in my time testing this, clicking on Cid etc., I've met maybe 5-10 people standing around Cid who are also having the same problem.

I have the same exact problem.

Quest giver Cid is bugged similarly to the way Edmelle was unresponsive from earlier this week before you guys fixed it.

We have contacted the appropriate people who will look into this concern for you and attempt to fix the unresponsive NPC (Cid) so that he will give you "The Best Inventions" to allow you to progress in the story once more. If it is a concern you are having, we encourage you to post here to ensure we are aware of this, should you run into this on any server other than Excalibur (which has already been escalated as I type this). Thank you very much for your continued support of Final Fantasy XIV and hopefully you will soon be back on your way through the quest in Eorzea!

I logged in early this morning to test the issue again and it looks like Cid has been fixed, I was able to pick up the quest no problem. Thank you very much for your assistance and quick response :).

If only they would fix brigie.
