Token system is dead

So the game doesn't even have 1 year and the long promised token system is already dead.

- Crystal tower will randomly drop gear superior to DL/Crafted.
- Coil will randomly drop lv95 weapons
- Moogle will randomly drop lv80 weapons


So basically what's the point of tokens now?

Wasn't this system based on the fact that if you don't get the drop, you can farm and waste some time to get an equivalent at 100% rate?

I agree on the fact that contents that give tokens are too easy, but making them useless is not the solution.

Make a new type of token, harder to get (coil?) to buy the same RNG gear.

But something here is strange if that's the case...
CT won't be harder ( Yoshi said ilv55 gear requirement) then WP/AK, so why does it give stronger gear?
Moogle won't be harder then titan (y said a little bit harder then Garuda), yet it will give lv80 weapons.

Man, I feel really bad for people who did relic quest in 1.0. Maybe they destroyed Moogle weapon and some of them could be even better then some relics now (I totally see Moogle Bow having crit rate, while relic doesn't).

Why are you destroying a good concept? Token system was nice, a little bit unfair for the difficulty level of some content, but a nice idea that should be fixed and stay in the game.

After 2.1 RNG gear will be better then token gear. It's 1.0 timesink all over again.
I've already lived that nightmare.

All I saw in that post was the numerous uses of "then" instead of "than".

the token system was a temporary solution to a problem. In v.1.0, a weapon didn't always drop from the primals- you often just got dark matter. The current solution is the superior one- just having 1 weapon drop every time instead of having tokens.

The re-entry wait times for the primals were also removed, which means you can run them more quickly than before. It wasn't long before I had every Garuda weapon whereas in 1.23 I cleared it maybe 15 times, didn't get anything, and didn't even see some of the weapons drop (and never earned enough tokens before the shutdown). In the same number of runs in ARR I got several of the weapons.

TL;DR: Token system is unnecessary with the current content design.

Not when loot tables for coils 1-2 have been bugged from the start.

This is already being addressed int he upcoming patch.

I don't care I agree with this. Skill doesn't become skill it's how lucky you get. I have almost all weapons from Garuda, you know why cause I have a relic and speed run it. When I didn't I did it 40+ never saw the bow once. Coming up with tokens for each content is good, so people like me with no chance in hell, can still get stuff.

Also for the record I still haven't seen the bow

I second that, our FC did some runs to gear up with Garuda gear before trying Titan. Since that time I've done over 100 Garuda runs and the one bow I saw drop went to someone else. Saying you can just do moogle to get your non-upgraded relic equivalent ignores the RNG. Which can and will go against your favor.
