I want to turn off the you've receive a new tell sound

I can't stand it, where do I turn it off? it's really annoying with all these gil sellers

Esc (to open System Menu) -> Character Configuration -> Log Window Settings (on the left) -> "Play sound upon receiving tell" checkbox

Alternative answer: The little gear button down by your log takes you directly to step 3 above.

How to turn off, your PSN ID name displaying on your character examination screen? I couldn't find that but I bet its right in my face

You can do it the same way on ps3 just replace step 1 with pressing START

I don't think you can turn it off, actually. It's apparently something required by Sony.

You can't turn that off however it isn't visible to anyone on PC, only to others playing on PS3.
