Nvidia Optimus issue
I have searched far and wide for an answer to this problem, and I have yet to find anything useful.
FFXIV seems to want to keep using the Intel GPU instead of NVIDIA. I have a little icon that shows what is running with the NVIDIA and I was able to get it to work with the benchmark. I got 7144, which is a little bit more than the 2000 I got the first time...
Anyways, XIV does not show up running with NVIDIA and I am only getting 13 FPS.
I've tried re-installing drivers, re-installing the game, messing with settings, and I went into the NVIDIA control panel to make XIV run with it...but it still doesn't. I am at a loss, I no longer know what to do. Help please?
Intel(R) HD Graphics 3000
NVIDIA GeForce GTX 560M

when you start the game from the desktop icon right click and choose Nvidia as your graphics adapter. should be an option to select which adapter to run the game under.
-
That context menu item needs to be enabled before it appears

I have that enabled, and when I try to do it I get a box that says "You don't have the privilege to select the graphics processor in this menu" and then tells me to select it in control panel, which I have already done. :\

Update your drivers. They must be insanely old.
NVidia added the FFXIV executable into the drivers a long time ago telling the card to kick over to the nvidia chip instead of the internal Intel. If it hasent for some reason just manually add it yourself.

I literally just updated them last night, I even tried re-installing them. It's version 327.23

Just a dumb question perhaps, or maybe you have done it. But I don't see that anyone brought this up. Have you gone into the BIOS of your computer and disabled the Intel Graphics from being used all together? When you install a standalone graphics card you should have disabled the Integrated Graphics from the Bios.

Just tried it, I didn't see any options for disabling the Intel or anything like that

I fixed it somehow! There was a button on my start menu saying enable or disable 3D...I enabled it and it worked. Either that or I got lucky. Thanks for the help everyone, it was very much appreciated!
I also went full screen, maybe that was it lol
