So I play a DPS (Monk) and a tank (Warrior) and plan to pick up Scholar as my healer role for FC stuffs. Can anyone give me tips and advices on how to start out? I'm level 32 right now and have both fairies but I'm still confused by the skills' description. Any pointers on how I should use them? Also, I play on PC with a controller so if anyone can recommend a cross-bar settings it would be great.

1. Unless you micro Eos for his AoE healing, generally Selene will be more useful. Both of them have the base single target Embrace heal.
2. Put both place and follow on your bars, to move your fairy around. Keep it behind the boss (on melee), is generally a good idea.
3. If you know there is constant AoE damage coming out, keep Succor up. The Adloq shield it grants lasts 30 seconds, which is a LONG time.
4. Energy drain is never worth it once you get Lustrate (i think thats level 50 though), and its not worth it vs Sacred Soil if there is aoe damage coming out.
5. Adloquium is EXTREMELY mana inefficient. It is a flash heal if you will, rather than sustain healing. You almost always want to use Physicks unless the tank is going to die unless you use Adloquium.
6. Eye for an Eye is great for adds, and also before (like 20 seconds before) a big boss hit.
7. Virus is good right before a big boss hit.
8. If you have mana, shadowflare is a decent tank damage reduction in AoE packs. -

Shadowflare applies a slow to the enemy, which in turn reduces their attack speed and casting speed. It's not much, but it's something to use instead of Sacred Soil if you don't want to use an Aetherflow or it's on cooldown (can't have both out at once). Best to combine it with Swiftcast due to its long cast time, though.

And the majority of fights (esp when leveling up through dungeons), aren't really healing checks, and that most people do not use Eos's extra healing efficiently, and you have Selene being much more useful imo.
Also she seems to be fairly good at using her silence whenever there is something to be silenced, which is neat, but not really the focus of her kit.
And yes...shadowflare's slow, which seems to be a much higher than 5% proc rate, is useful for damage reduction. Plus its decent damage, and as everyone knows the best way to increase healing output is to have the boss die quicker. -

set fairy to steady (not obey) when you dont need their AOE move's, they will heal the grp while holding off on big AOE moves until you give the order!
1. don't use the pet hotbar if you are using a controller as it will remove the ability to shuffle hotbars with your front trigger.
2. set all of your pets AOE moves and summons on the hotbar of your choice.
3. if you don't have swiftcast invest in gringing a THM to lvl 26 (this is helpful even without you going SCH but it is a godsend for all healing classes.
4. cleric's stance from CNJ to DPS when you aren't healing (greatly speeds up raid and dungeon)
5. micro you pets moves get used to using PLACE, HEEL and AWAY, place for when you need the fairy close to the tank to keep him up while you focus another, heel to bring the fairy back to you on the fly, away to dismiss the fairy when she may grab aggro from trash mobs your grp is trying to avoid!
lastly lustrate is your best friend so keep Aetherflow up! hope it helps -

also to key in Id advice using Eos most of the time, how generally anyone feels selene is better is beyond me (she not, however she isn't bad either) Eos buff to healing and AOE heal (which if used in tandem with rouse> Fey Illum > whispering dawn) becomes a super HOT that you can buff with a succor and sit down and watch your fairy keep the party topped up while you doze off somewhere.
use selene if you feel the grp wont require a lot of heals and want to give the dps more fire power to run thru a dungeon faster. you should always be ready to switch your summon on the fly tho so that's why swiftcast is a must have!
swift > summon Eos/selene based on the situation and keep rolling! -

With my gear (Relic +1, Vanya+1 with some Darklight), these are my numbers.
Physick heals for about 880 for 133 MP, giving us a 6.61 HPM ratio. It has a HPS of 451.
Adloquium heals for about 680, with a 680 shield, for 319 MP, giving us a 4.26 HPM ratio. It has a HPS of 697. Keep in mind as well that Adloquium generates a double size shield on a critical hit (I have about a 15% crit rate with my current gear). It's math time!
Adloquium crits for about 1000, placing a 2000 shield, for 319 MP, giving us a 9.4 HPM ratio. It has a HPS of 1538! Using the expected value formula I learned in college ...
eV= .85(680*2) + .15(1000+2000) = 1156 + 450 = 1606, for an expected HPM of 5.03. Not quite as efficient as Physick, but close.
eV= 85(680*2) + .15(1000+2000) = 1156 + 450 = 1606, for an expected HPS of 823.
TLDR: Stack Crit. Cast Adlo. Win! -
