Pugilist: Dancer evasion Tank/Support. What would you like to see as a tank the most?

I feel I may have put this in the wrong part of the forums since it's a tanking job suggestion, but I want others input on what they think about the idea, or anything I could add or tweak to it.

It's generally an evasion based tank with abilities that has synergy with the other tank in an 8 man group. I feel ninja should fit the dps role this time around, and if we were to see an evasion tank, nothing is as graceful and nimble as a dancer.

I don't believe pure melee healers will work well due to the general mechanics of the fights in this game. Which is why I believe they should be tank or dps hybrids that have minor heals that compliment the actual healers of the group. Having that third yet weaker healer could make a big difference in a fight. Dancers strive on being versatile and could be tanks or healers in 11. With certain tweaks they can do both, albeit much less healing power than an actual healer, yet still noticeable to make a difference (with proper balancing) while still being able to fight in melee range.

Thanks for the suggestion, I added it on there, I also feel the stances could offer debuffs to enemies when they are struck with certain attacks, while still retaining the support skills from before. As Greased Lightning would be removed from this Job, this could very well make up for it.

I think this is the best idea for an additional class / tank in the game. Would love to see it. Even more than the stuff most people are salivating for (NIN, SAM, RDM, DRK, etc. etc.)

I always saw dancer more as a heal spec rather than a tank or DPS spec, but I look at it from the perspective of FF:T and FF:VI where "dance" was pretty much a support ability. Yes, it was debuff focused, but it was still about making sure your team took less damage. Since debuffs don't really play as a major aspect in ARR, I'd expect the support to come out in being a heal spec. I'd also expect it to be part of the Thief, if/when they add it, rather than the Pugilist; if it were to be attached to an existing class, I'd expect Archer (to mirror Bard, as was done in FF:T, as well as because it makes more sense to have high DEX as a dancer than high STR).

I would like to see Dancer as a tank, using it's evasion mixed with a lot of support but with a lower/moderate HP pool. Instead of the Dancer actually tanking, it would be forced to redirect portions of dmg taken off of them onto the party.

warrior and paladin cover the tank classes nicley there is no need for another.
