Just started. First off my brothers server is full...
Second off I've watched them play on the PS3 and their game loads like 3-5x faster than mine!
I have the following:
i5 3570k
HD7950 OC'd to 1105/1370
8gb DDR3 - 64gb Boot SSD - 128gb Game SSD (game installed here) - 1tb Library HDD (w/page file)
While running the game fullscreen on max 1920x1080 (120hz) I get skipping, slow character loading and slow zone loading. (same results with high (desktop) and medium (desktop) as well as manually setting everything to low).
I benched my drive and it's still going strong. I benched my boot drive, it's good as well. Other games load fine. Down stream is 50-70mbps and upstream is 2-4mbps on speedtest.
No idea what to do. Updating to beta AMD drivers since they have a FFXIV update but it's notes don't correlate to this issue.
Barely got to level 2 before the lack of environment loading caused a zone to load not at all. I walked on the lumisa luminosa upper decks and while crossing a bridge there were no NPCs, Nothing.
Then I walked into a building and fell thru and died but still had 1 hp and could move around. Had to return to the crystal to do anything.
Even after I zone to area, I have to stand still for 1-3 minutes before the NPC's load. This may be a slight exaggeration but not by much. I go over to the couch and watch TV till the game loads, that's how long it takes.

Weird issues you are having.
Probably nothing wrong with your hardware but maybe something with your software?
1. Try uninstalling and reinstalling the game
2. Try the 13.10 Beta2 drivers (uninstall previous drivers)
I guess your SSD is AHCI enabled? -

FPS isn't an issue. Just loading into the game, waiting for characters to load, and waiting on certain things like quest completion to trigger. Really just quest completions, they always seem to take forever for the rewards screen to pop up for me. That's if I don't have to wait in the area for the NPC's to load.
