crit + determin.
Remove spell speed. Use int det crit in that ordeer
I cant say about Materia, but for my SCH, the spell speed of my fairy doesnt increase my DPS, it just increases how quickly the cast goes off, while still having a 2.49 GCD anyways. (Unlike melee, whos GCD actually gets lowered)
So spell speed is better for a healer, who needs to get the heal off quicker, but it doesnt effect HPS.
This is a question I've asked myself many times in the last few days. Here's how I currently understand it:
Roughly 14 Critical Hit Chance = 1% actual critical chance.
Roughly 4-6 Determination = 1 INT at end-game gear levels currently.
Critical Hit Chance gets better and better than Determination as your DPS goes up since Determination is supposedly a static increase to your damage regardless of gear whereas every Critical Hit Chance is a straight up overall DPS multiplier. However, this multiplier is only a 0.5% increase per 14 Critical Hit Chance (because it's only 1.5X Critical damage), meaning there's a good chance with our currently relatively low damage amounts, Determination will add a higher static amount of damage than the same amount of Critical Hit Chance will multiply your current damage.
Another way to look at it: roughly 30 Critical Hit Chance = 1% average DPS boost (if formulas are to be believed), and 30 Determination is almost definitely more than a 1% increase to DPS. Basically, while this is hard for me to test personally since it's so expensive to over-meld a full set of Savage Aim IIIs, I believe pound for pound Determination is a stronger DPS increase than Critical Hit Chance with current gear, and should be a priority as long as you hit the accuracy requirements for your content. That being said, if you know you'll stat cap Determination, make sure you get your Savage Aim IIIs in early since they're much more expensive (on my server, could be different elsewhere).
Wow, that was really useful. Thanks!
