Plenty of bad experiences led me to take that decision. I've DF'd a lot since then, met lots and lots of people and, usually, advice is either ignored or bad received. So if I make a balance, it's not worth it. I just bite the bullet and run through it. It's no use to waste your energy anymore. I usually DF with my GF as well, she still helps and, most of the time, the advice is ignored. Is it good to act like that? Probably not, but I decided to go in DF so I know the risks. This way, my runs through said system became less stressing, thank God.Quote:

Still levelling my alt (almost 58 now!!)
First the bad: Sohm Al. We manage to wipe on the 2nd boss because the green thing didn't die fast enough. I think I was probably the only one attacking it and I will be honest here, I didn't even know this was a "you are probably going to die" thing because in 2 years I have never ever ever seen that thing explode. Learn something new all the time I suppose. Last boss... oh dear lord the last boss. Tank explains fight (he had explained the 2nd one too, so I dunno why I thought we would be fine here). Anyway... first Marker goes out, DPS gets 2 explosions to the face and dies. First AoE, DPS2 stands in it and dies. And that was pretty much the whole fight... one or the other (or sometimes both) died to every.single.mechanic. I have never had to res so much in my life. In retrospect, we probably would have finished faster if I just left them dead and dpsed the boss instead of ressing but I had this wild hope after MULTIPLE deaths to the same mechanic they would finally learn to.. you know.. do the mechanic.
Now the good: Both Aery and The Vault went off without a hitch. People put there thing on the statues on the 2nd boss of Aery. People broke us out of Sable. People killed the adds fast enough for Estinien to shield us, etc etc. People didn't get hit with orbs on the first boss of Vault. People didn't take massive vuln stacks on the second boss. People killed the fire orbs and didn't stand in poop and broke chains on the last boss. It was grand.
It's just all very amusing to me because Sohm Al has always been something I don't even think about in terms of difficulty and both The Aery and The Vault can be very sketch at times... but for this alt it was the opposite. -

It isn't about "letting someone go" I was trying to offer her help and advice as an experienced player, but her, like many others, consider help as an attack. I rarely say anything to people in-game anymore unless asked because everyone just gets their knickers in a twist as soon as you mention anything they are doing even if you are just trying to help them. -

I recently got harassed real bad for no reason by some guy in a11n that I joined to help a returning friend...and people refused to kick that guy at first. Like seriously, what is wrong with people.
And then he would keep going and only after the third time that i initiated a votekick, people finally agreed to it.
(ah, and btw, it was me, the healer, who had to LB3 everyone, just to have everyone die again, ressing half the party again,just to have them die AGAIN duo'ing the boss down when he had 5% left together with the main tank, who ended up dying then too when the boss still had 1%, so I finished it off on my own and got quite a few comms for it. So I really couldnt have been nearly as bad and useless like I was called by the guy who harassed me.) -

As long as you dont wipe a lot of people mind an argument more than someone playing really, really badly. They dont want to sit around for 2 minutes, having someone give advice to another person because that feels like wasting time - they rather spend 20 minutes longer in the dungeon because someone really, really cant play...Quote:

Beats me. especially when you can just keep going even if 1 person is missing. you may just have to be a bit more careful about it.
which is why i usually queue up with a friend....so we get 2 free votekicks by default if we get issues with real bad defensive players. -
