Right. So, it's yet another case of of a vocal minority demanding that the status quo is preserved so they can feel 'special'. I'm not going to beat around the bush - I have never seen a single person using the earrings on Balmung, a server with quite a few players from the days of 1.0. I don't doubt that they were thrown into a retainer's inventory or armoire to gather dust until this controversy arose and those who had acquired them recalled that they exist.

I think it's good Yoshi replied, personally even if it doesnt affect me as I am a 2.0 player. I still believe what he said was very detailed and he notices his and Square Enix's mistake. As many have said countless times in this thread, it is like they were robbed of the exclusivity of having unique 1.0 features. You see, the rising event we have now seems to be a "glimpse" of the past so it makes 100% sense to call them replicas because they aren't supposed to exist anymore.

I don't think this will happen. The minion and music sheet will likely be added to mogstation but since the earrings were sold from the same vendor that sells confetti and fireworks which aren't the mogstation, they likely will not be added.

Its not about that one tiny earring alone. Its just another point, where SE clearly aimed for new players, even those who stay only 2 months. But long time players, veterans, even legacy players getting even more disappointed the longer the game exists.

Yeah, its like those "the game was better back then" statements. Sure, many things became better. New classes, new race, new raids and mechanics. But some things are getting worse or nothing changed at all.

- Long time Veteran Rewards? Gone.
- Fun and challenging PvP? Simplified and dead.
- Deep Dungeon? Just a PotD-clone with nothing new.
- Relic Weapons? Dont get me started about this...
- Expert Roulette? Just big faceroll dungeons... Great "Expert" content (not).
- Things not possible due Server performance? Only possible if you pay for (retainers)
...

Certainly, making a big discussion about a itsy bitsy tiny earring may be overreacting. But its another (even small) example about the path FFXIV want to go. And I m afraid of it. There is so much potential in this game, but SE still working on to many wrong parts of the game.

- What about increasing slots for glamour?
- What about new character customization options?
- What about more content for advanced players (not only grind stuff)?

I better hope, 4.4 will be promising. Pagos and HH were disappointing (not because the features itself, but releasing it way to late).

What we have now is just 5 fates at level 50 that are practically just mini bosses with a cool weather going on in the background. also where is the logic of my first post being for attention? None of that makes sense and much less about people's outrage of earrings. They didn't robbed 1.0 players of anything either. They still have the memories of them doing the fight and the experience of 1.0. The sweet tattoo and the two mounts.

I can’t say I honestly understand what the big deal was in the first place, as I’m not a legacy player, and some of what people were posting/arguing was an embarrassment in of itself, BUT I can say that if I was an upset legacy player I would at least be grateful that Yoshi took the time to apologize. That shows grace and humility.
Yes in hindsight the words “replica” in front of the earrings would’ve gone a long way. But at least Yoshi acknowledged it. Serves to show what we as a community can strive to show as well.

Cool, can't wait to get my Replica Legacy Chocobo, Replica Tattoo and Replica Dalamud Horn next year then :D
