I worry what will happen when Eureka has died out. When people have gotten everything they want and have moved on or the next version of eureka is out so there is no reason to do the old one. You can't solo in there since the best way to do anything is the fates. There are not roulettes to keep people who don't need anything there doing it.
I absolutely agree. To everyone making comparisons between Eureka and FFXI: Eureka is nothing like FFXI, and it never will be.
Yeah, XI was grindy, but it at least had some depth and nuance to it. Eureka does not. Eureka is the distillation of all of FFXI's worst aspects, without any of the systems, context, or rewards that made the grind in XI feel meaningful or rewarding. I feel like Eureka exists because a lot of FFXI veterans have said for a long time that they wish XIV was more like XI, and the dev team followed through with this imitation content based upon that sentiment alone, without any understanding of what made FFXI enjoyable to begin with.
Please go around and read people's comments more carefully. A lot of the talk is how regardless of rewards, Eureka is just a boring grind and nothing new. Yes the rewards are bad, but they don't resolve the core issues of Eureka being boring and a recycled Diadem clone.
With all the backlash you got, this is the best we get? How are you so out of touch of the community? This post only reinforces something I said in another thread. Do you really want to know why so many threads are being made? this is why, we are not being listened to.
I hope this is sarcasm.
Dynamis was actually one of my favorite events to run. We always had so much fun there.
Anyhoo, I finally got into Eureka last night for the first time. I actually enjoyed my time there. Did a bit of the normal group grind, then found an NM train. I never ventured into Diadem, so I can't speak for any comparisons there.
I do worry a bit about the long-term life of the place. I'm personally just there to farm up some minions/mounts/glams, not so much after the relic or dyeable AF pieces. What I would love to see is a way to level your actual jobs in there - not just the elemental level (or whatever this was called -blanking atm!). Once I get my fluff items, I have very little reason at this point to go back. I'm sure I'm not alone in that regard.
I am sure they hear us fine. They can't come up with major updates within a few days. They can definitely hotfix some smaller details like this, but they have to discuss and go over what is wrong, what needs to be adjusted or added in, and continue to get feedback for another period of time. I would realistically not expect any magic fixes for this till at least the next major patch.
I agree with this. Changing the loot and maybe some enemy balance is the only thing they can do on the fly because it's only tweaking numbers. Anything else would require designing, implementation, TESTING, and naturally integration with the existing system. This is basically how I felt when they said they're upping the awards on the MSQ roulette - this is the best they can do on the fly, and will continue to monitor progress. The fact things are the way they are to begin with is, now that's a different issue all on its own...
