Congrats Zami on the A4S as monk, represent!
Anyone had moments where the game would eat your Purification without giving you the TP? The shit just happened to me in A2. I was a sad TP hungry monk. Speaking of TP, something for the OP with A2S TP management. I'm only on Wave 8, but I don't think it'll make much of a difference on wave 9:
Pre pull: stock up chakra stacks
Wave 1: Single target.
Wave 2: Single target a soldier, then single target the Hardmind.
Wave 3: Single target the Hardmind(pop cooldowns as you do this), then switch to Hardhelm. Begin your AOE rotation. Pop Invigorate AS SOON as you hit 540.
Wave 4: DPS a soldier in the center until the Gobwalker arrives. I would suggest DPSing the walker first, but your tank may or may not lose aggro to you. Resume AOE rotation until walker is around 25%(your group will handle the rest+ your walker can recharge more safely).
Wave 5: Single target soldiers, then work on your respective widow. Invigorate should be available around 300~ or so. Use when ready.
Wave 6: Hardmind>Walker>Widow>Doll. Feel free to toss out a rockbreaker or three. Not too many. You can either use Purification here, or on Wave 7. I just use it here.
Wave 7: If you DID use Purification, recharge while your tanks grab the dolls. Use Form Shift in between charges so you can maintain your stacks easier when you go back on the offensive.
Wave 8: Well, i'm still working on this, but I'd imagine Invigorate will be available sometime then. Use at your own leisure.
Wave 9: You probably won't be out of TP here, but given I haven't reached this, I'd appreciate if someone gave more info and/or gave better advice. Purification might even be ready by then to be honest.
RIP Monk Purification/FC glitch. That just got fixed today...well it was only a matter of time but that was a pretty useful glitch, not gonna lie.
Has the maximum dps output opener been established yet? I've been using a rotation similar to Lilyth's.
Any updates from the top tier monks? (Sorry I don't know where to look through the 88pages of responses lol)
Agreed. I actually focus more on slipping in AoE rotations for the first 3 waves and burn off invigorate there around 540 TP, then single target on wave 4 for gobwalker and the adds since adding in extra AoE damage sometimes accidentally kill the walker as our group almost burns too fast for recharging off walker before kill. During the waiting period for recharge when adds are down I usually recharge my stacks during the transition into wave 5 to save for a purification in a later wave after the 4 jagd dolls are dead (invigorate availabe again within this timeline). I'll usually AoE once or twice for the surrounding trash since i'll have purification available during transition to final waves to single target priority adds. Again, it all depends on the pacing of the group on when to get a purification in.
And once again, Gratz Zamii on the A4S kill!
Are you talking about
Form shift to coeurl form-> shoulder tackle -> demolish -> perfect balance -> snap punch -> blood for blood -> snap punch -> internal release -> dragon kick -> steel
peak -> twin snakes -> howling fist -> snap punch -> (perfect balance drops here) elixir field -> touch of death -> Forbidden chakra -> boot shine -> true strike ->
demolish -> Fracture OR Dragon kick (Blood for blood drops)
This is basically what I use, except I moved steal peak and elixir field around, not sure if that is a dps loss/increase (tested both seems about the same even with the animation difference).
thats the 3.0 opener i was refering to yes, although personally i move all the oGCD abilities back 1 gcd so they line up better with our other buffs and only begin to fall off after demo is reapplied
although a str pot should be moved in where the steel peak is if your using one, and everything after that pushed back yet another gcd, but other than that its exactly as i use (with the dragon kick variant).
swapping the steel peak and elixir field around will be a dps increase, assuming they are all fully buffed, which the exact opener posted is missing twin snakes, but the increase with be so insignificant you probably wont notice the difference
In the scenario you laid out both Steal Peak and Elixir Field would be buffed by the same things so it's no difference in damage. Just simply a preference thing. The only time using an oGCD before another one under the same buffs would matter is if it actually allowed for an additional use because the timer would have been back up just a few seconds faster later in the fight.
Also I agree with Zami in that while optimizing the opener is fun and all, but as long as you get GL3 as fast as you can and start rolling buffs/oGCDs the end result isn't going to change much at all. I shuffle stuff around in my opener from what others use to line things up so it's more comfortable or easier to track for myself.
