Usually the majority of the games decent players are actually IN the game playing, the rageoholics and trolls that infest most game forums don't even play the game, they probly did at first, but then they got sick of it and stayed to make the forum mods miserable. lol

The 'free month' is there to make people want to actually pick up the game. Every MMO i've ever been in has had the first month included with the purchase. People would be up in arms if you had to drop 50-90 dollars on a piece of software THEN drop another 15 to be able to play it. People seriously need to get this 'OMG you're playing for free stop complaining' idea out of their heads.

As for the extra days, got a post of that from an offical source? If that's the case, my complaints are null. Ofcourse the idea that i have to bash the heck outta my button to keep trying to join is just well, a bad way..."The servers are full right now, please wait on this screen and you will be tossed in when there is room" instead of "Please continue to bash your x button for 3 hours, maybe you'll get in"

But really this post is pointless, much like the one above it. They screwed up with the servers, they had numbers and they tried to do the least amount of spending on servers to still run the game. They lost that bet.

If they actually cared more for service and quality than the bottom line they would of had more servers at the ready.

After having tried to log in for more than four hours (mercifully watching TV while trying), I've decided my weekend is too short to keep trying and I'm going out to drink beer at get laid.

This is my wife's favorite MMO I've ever played. Since I've started FF14 and havent been able to play she gets to spend more time with me. :(

Not to be an asshole, but it gets tiring reading all of the Square Enix apologists on these forums. So I will quote just one single part of your original post, and point out exactly how and why your wrong, as well as show why people have all the right in the world to be pissed off.

Point 1: "This explains it's self, the number of players was not and could not be foreseen" Your absolutely wrong, they handled shipping their games, and handled all electronic purchases through their website. They knew exactly how many copies they were selling. This is like beta 4, where they tried the old "omg we had NO idea there would be that many people wanting to play" when they are the ones who sent THAT MANY beta codes out. Another very very poor attempt at making an excuse.

Point 2: "now these limits are in place so we, the players who bought their game do not crash the servers and stop everyone from playing" This is another poorly thought out attempt at an excuse. The game's design itself contradicts this comment. The game has a Queue system, meaning that it detects when a specific threshhold of players are playing, then limits further log ins through a Queue system. What is causing a problem, and the reason they have killed most queue's is that while sitting in a queue, a player is hosted by a seperate server, which itself gets congested, causing other players to not even be able to register the NA/EU servers. I could go into more depth but judging from your original post it would be over your head. On top of that, a server crash is not devastating, and truthfully would be beneficial if they would make it happen say 3 times a day, since they obviously are not smart enough to write a simple code to kick afk players from the servers, opening up bandwidth for other PAYING customers you mention.

I don't know what you are used to getting for your money, but your wrong in that people should not be complaining. I can understand apologizing for them last weekend, but its been over a week now of the same problems. While you mention that servers aren't built overnight, they certainly can ship hardware over night, and a good tech can build one of these immensely confusing server things you spoke of in a few hours tops. It would take longer to get the software installed than to actually build it physically. Point is, they could of added servers this week, they could of done a lot of things, but so far all we have gotten are empty promises and condescending apologies... and a lot of people like you who feel because they have a love fest for SE they need to defend them to the death when they fuck up.

A) I don't live in Japan.

B) I don't live in Europe

I do not want to make/play a character on a sever that isn't even remotely local to me.

I made one on a EU server just to play some. The tutorial/intro quests that you have to do take entirely too long and artificially keep you from visiting other areas.

I played long enough to learn this and decided to stop playing until I am on a server with my friends.

The fact that I can't even MAKE a character on an NA server is frustrating.

The fact that this has been an issue since pre-launch is ridiculous.

The fact that no real queue feature exists is ridiculous.

The fact that you can be AFK for 24+ hours and not be kicked is ridiculous.

If this is the reason the first game tanked... well the fact that these issues aren't being really addressed in any tangible manner is very telling of a second tanking.

This is sad since I actually have enjoyed the game, but I want to enjoy it with friends not people who don't really speak my language.

If you are happy receiving this level of service for something you, I presume, paid for is relatively sad.

I don't mind queue's. I understand. What I cannot understand is constant denial of *acceptable* service.

Yeah, I'm sorry that I'm pissed. If you have all the time in the world to be all day clicking until you finally don't get the "world is full message", lucky you! If you can afford to wait two or more weeks until you can join the server your friends are, lucky you!

But I don't have that time. I work all week long, I have a wife and a daughter (and no, I'm not too old for games, never will be) that I'll gladly spend the rest of my free time with. But after that I want to play a little bit and let my mind go. An hour or two and every other day. Those times are few for me, and then I try to log on to the game and can't play it.

I PAID for a premium edition, with early access and could not play it then. I tought to myself "Ok, they will solve the problems on the launch date, I don't mind having paid more". Only two days ago I was able to play for the first time and not on the server of my choice.

If this was a F2P, I would not mind at all. But they said I could play on my time!

And I don't want my money back, I love the game, I just want you to remember that I can complain because Square is not doing me a favor, it's a service that they offered and I bought.

So, we're getting new servers, and each server requires several computers to hold all of us in it, and they have been making these preparations for awhile now, they don't happen over night, but some of us apparently think they should be manifested instantly to solve all of our problems, that's fine if you think that way but I would suggest that being high right now isn't helping anyone. So there you have it, Square are actually doing something, because that's what they do, now can we please just have some sensibility on these forums, complaining, threatening spam or lawsuits or anything else that is impossible to take seriously helps no one, nor does it help your standing in the community.

My thoughts exactly

Today is the worst yet for me. It has been 8 hours now of running in circles from character list update errors, to server full errors, to lobby connection errors closing out the client. I have yet to get in at all today.

Actually no.

If you read the box it comes "with" 30 days of game time.

No where does it say it is free. It says, "Your purchase comes with 30 days of game time."

IE you are purchasing 30 days of game time with the box.

I will not be patient with SE anymore. Fuck that bullshit, they had plenty of time to fix and tweak their servers. No excuses. This is just pure fail and bad business. I will keep yelling at them till they get their god damn shit together. Their current server infrastructure are COMPLETE and UTTER SHIT. The slew of errors that is plaguing the game right now is completely unacceptable.

Why should we have to spam the login for hours and hours ? Tell me who the hell thought this would be a great idea? Seriously, what the fuck? This is one of THE worst MMO launch I've ever experienced. By now, we should be able to play the game. SE is a complete joke.

This is getting bad, I feel bad for them lol. This is a pretty big fail.

I have been trying to log in since 2 hours and a half ago, since I'm back from work actually, this is pretty ridiculous, couldn't play the whole week-end, mostly because the servers won't let me log in.

This is getting pretty ridiculous, never had this much trouble connecting in a MMO and this is not my first launch...

Why does everyone keep posting that we get a free month of play time? I thought the point of paying for the game was the license to use the program AND one month of game time. Doesn't that mean we all paid for thirty days of use when we purchased the game? How does spending money on something equal free?

All I want is them to refund me for what I paid for this piece of garbage game and then Ill never buy another of there games again was huge fan of there Final Fantasy games not anymore. Bought the collectors and standard edition's that's a lot to not be able to play. This next update better fix it or think ones should get together and place a class action lawsuit against them. Maybe then they will do something to fix it. Created 3 characters all on low servers and cant play any of them. It sucks being on JP servers when you only understand English and all chat is in Japanese. Cant get past level 15 before cant play them anymore. Out of 7 days having it only been able to play it maybe 10 hours. Been out for week over a now where I live they should had the problems fixed by now. Wonder how many of spaces taken up is from gold sellers. First time got to play seen 5 players spamming for gold selling. Today keep getting 2002 lobby errors cant play at all. Out of the 15+ mmo's I have played this has to be worst one of all by far never had one that couldn't play most ever had was bad lag.

To original poster, I get that you work for SE and you are in danger of getting fired for making NA/EU such a bad experience. The whole game isn't broken if Japan has an issue it's fixed in an hour while NA/EU continues to not only have current issues unresolved but to have new things break every day. I truly hope that people continue to express their distress for a broken product that isn't getting fixed. I truly hope that those in NA/EU management get fired for gross incompetence. Any person who works in a professional business environment in the modern world would get fired for putting out a product as broken as this. This is a great game, I don't want a refund I just want to be able to play. The most frustrating part is all the people on the forums posting screenshots of server firsts and hitting level 50 who are not affected by these issues so it is not like you are taking servers down to fix issues you are just content with a broken game and system. I truly hope that after the maintenance tomorrow that some of these issues are resolved but with your track record so far I have little to no confidence in that.

:mad: Auto Logout is something that should have been in this game along time ago. If the auto logout was in the game then everyone would get in eventually. There has been several times that I played and seen people just standing around idle. If they were kicked out then for instance when everyone was at work, school, sleep, or even not at home others could play. No one plays forever and this mean constant openings for others. INCORPORATE AUTO LOGOUT INTO THE GAME SQUARE-ENIX....

As long as it is not too restrictive/overzealous, it would be nice. I mean if I eat Mexican the night before or for lunch I might want a bit at times.... lol
