40 minutes for a single enemy encounter?? That seems a little harsh to me. 20 minutes seems like it should be the longest single enemy encounter, in my humble opinion. That would allow for slightly more "complex" missions that requires a series of enemies defeated, but only takes about an hour.
- Defeat the Sahagin Navigator roaming NM to retrieve a map to the Sahagin Seagate (the location changes every respawn) and HQ/Rare sahagin crafting materials ... 20 minute battle, tops.
- Defeat the Sahagin Gatewarden non-roaming NM at the Seagate to retrieve the Seakey for that particular Seagate and HQ/Rare sahagin crafting materials ... 20 minutes, tops.
- Defeat the Sahagin Sealord NM on the other side of the Seagate (instanced battle) to retrieve the Sealord's Trident (Lancer's weapon) and HQ/Rare sahagin crafting materials ... 20 minutes, tops.
That way, any "casual" player can participate in any or all of battles, and not walk away empty handed for their efforts, and the self-identified "hardcore" players can get a more immersive series of combats and the rewards of dedicating a larger amount of time.
Multiply the above by the number of beastman tribes (Sahagin, Amalj'aa, Ixal, Goblin, Kobold, Qiqirn, etc), and then by the number of Armory Classes ... and that would begin filling the void for both "casual" and "hardcore" content.
I wanted to offer somewhat of a more constructive post in this thread. I wouldn't mind seeing others do the same. Not just voicing complaints (however valid they may be), but offering "specific" suggestions that address those complaints.
Just saying.
