Has any marriage in FFXIV actually lasted longer than a few months at most?

It's not truly an FFXIV marriage without a spicy divorce and your house getting auto demolished at the end, or spicy drama in limsa shout chat.

I had one that lasted over 2 years. It was the best 2 years I've had with this game. I've been hoping for another like it but it seems like it was a fluke :(

For some reason, in general, people in FFXIV want to escape reality and mostly are not looking to create meaningful bonds or contacts with long term potential.

That could be a thing but there is one problem with it. That "Ring"

Ring has ability to teleport you to where your partner at, it saves gil. If you do cross World/DC marriage, then that ring will not work and that would take away that benefit. But if that ring does work like that in Cross World/DC, it can cause alot of issues.

It works if you and your partner are currently on the same server at the same time. That's how it works when a partner transfers to another server from their partner. The rings do still work, you just have to be on the same server actively.

I did not know that, I think it could work in theory. The rings will work when the couple is together when they are separate then it will not work. I can go for that!

Ironically my in game wife and I have lasted about 10 months now. She is with someone IRL and has a child. I'm single by choice IRL. We have a really good friendship. We both understand not to cross each others boundaries in regards to romance IRL. Marriage is possible in game as long as both parties understand the expectations and respect them.

That seems to be the nature of things here though. Asking up front really seems like you're asking to find a stalker or someone creepy, but even that aside... it's just kind of hard to set emotional boundaries. I mostly just want the glams and mount but I wouldn't mind making a new friend but... I just feel like the type of friend you'd be asking for in this scenario wouldn't be healthy.

Goals for the marriage union: I do happen to enjoy roleplaying, I would love to have someone to develop alongside Ayane. You’ll find she’s quite the character! However, it’s alright if you aren’t open to roleplaying together too. I would love to be able to run MSQ and content together! Do you care if the player in real life is not the same gender as their character? Somewhat do. If for just Rp then it doesn't matter if the Player isn't a female like their char. but if it goes beyond the game, for a more personal partnership then it matters if the player is Female.

Goals for the game: Going through the MSQ (because of IRL issues I had to take a long break from when I started playing in 2020 ) and getting myself a house.
Goals for the marriage union: Roleplay, the long term obviously. Exploring new things, creating/living the story for our characters, and evolving them. Playing the game, have fun. And if possible an outside game friendship or more.

There are cool stories out there about people who met ingame and then found themselves in real life, now that would be a great story to tell one day, wouldn't it?
