Can confirm that 19th sector is opened from 15th sector. Forecastle, Hull - Invincible II, rigging - enterprise, aftcastle - Invincible.
15-13-11. I'll post screenshot with log later
P.S. Still no sign of 14th sector, sigh :(

19th sector unlocked. Adding screenshot as promised.
P.S. Forgot to take screenshot of map. One of my ships will return in like 10 hours and i will add new screen.

Our airship also discovered 19 on its first trip to 15. (Now if it would just be nice enough on one of these trips to 11 to discover 14 >< ).
Woohoo! Can't wait to hear what you guys get from 19! \o/
It will be a little while before we can go there ourselves... The SS Rubber Ducky has fallen into so bad luck with unlocking sectors it seems XD we have visited sector 11 several times (i think 6 or 7) and still no 13 or 15.
Forgot to take a screenshot cause i was so salty after doing route 17-18 and getting some dumb log and cluster lol BUT unlocked 4th ship from 18! Also unlocked my 3rd ship at the same time with 14 and only got 1 notification.

1st Airship requires 1 Flight Credit, if I remember correctly.
2nd Airship requires 3 Flight credits.
How many Flight credits are required for the third and fourth Airships?
So ..
1st : 1 FC
2nd : 3 FC
3rd : 5 FC
4th : 7 FC
16 Flight Credits overall. Good to know.
Hey guys, I've been trying to unlock sector 11. From what I see, sector 6 unlocked sector 11. I did sector 6 multiple times, still nothing. It's at rank 41 with 3 entreprise parts and one invincible II
Having issues unlocking sector 12. Been to sector 10 multiple times on 2 airships. Even tried a solo journey just to sector 10. Anyone who recently unlocked sector 12 remember what the conditions were? Any help would be appreciated.
I recently unlocked sector 12 when doing a 11 - 10 trip.
3 Enterprise parts, 1 Invincible II part.
Had done 10 - 11 trips for over a week and no sectors were discovered. 11 - 10 did the trick for us, but I'm sure it's just RNG.

cassia logs from 16 as well
nothing to do with guild size im in a guild with me myself and I and maby 1 or 2 ppl iv met along the way. iv currently got 2 airships one 42 other 12. i got all sectors up to 15 unlocked and havent realy had any issues unlocking sectors like i have heard many ppl complaining about on here. all i can say is build all the ship parts for whatever class is next and implement them as soon as i can starting with aftcastle then forcastle then body then riggin. i have yet to do anything out of the ordinary although i rarely cap out my distance and some have sugested haveing extra distance helps though i have seen no concreat evedance of that.
Yeah noone really knows whether its rng or some weird requirements. My ship was quite well upgraded at all times (untill about a week ago) but it stopped discovering sectors for about 2 weeks.
Its very disheartening to have a maxed out ship and missing like 5-6 sectors. xD
I opened sector 19 today. However, it didnt show on the report for the ship for some reason. The route was sector 15,13,11 - so I assume it was section 15 that opened it. I've currently re-sent the ship out so can't post a picture of it on the map, but will do that as soon as I can.

Finally sector 7 discovered !!!! :D and sector 14 too^^
Little update, we also found Sector 19 from 15. Although I wasn't there to confirm it, one of my FC officers finalized the report for me
Soooo..... WTF IS MY AIRSHIP DOING?

How the hell did I unlock sector 11 two levels early and yet my retard airship still cant unlock 7-8 for a 2nd airship....? (or 9-10 for that matter >.<)
Flight details:
Path was 2, 5, 6
This was using invincible hull and aftcastle, and enterprise rigging and forecastle.
Weather for sector 2 "high winds" for the first item, but "violent turbulence" for the second item found
Weather for sector 5 "violent turbulence" and resulted in only one item found
Weather for sector 6 was "no wind or turbulence found" for the first item, but "violent turbulence" for the second item found
NO "sector unlocked" message in voyage log... only found out I unlocked 11 after finalising the report
If there was a word for "fear of travelling in a north eastern direction".. thats what my airship would be S:
Sector 11 is an odd one and is usually unlocked early before you have rank high enough to go there.
Keep sending it to sector 05 and eventually 7 will unlock, and from 7 you'll unlock 8.
Some of the reports I'm reading here seem really interesting. There appear to be some ships out there that are really well built and high ranks that have a really bad time getting new sectors while there are other less upgraded ships finding things.
Some questions for those having trouble:
1. Is the ship being sent back out as soon as it comes back or are there usually delays between? (i.e. is this a matter of number of flights?)
2. Would it make sense that slower ships (less upgraded riggings) have slower flights and "allow" for more time for that stupid mammet to potentially see new sectors between sectors? (speculation here from hearing some ship builds/rank)
Still trying to figure out a good way to use the airship spreadsheet data to try to determine if ship stats help but like others have said, I think we'd need massive amounts of data with controlled other variables to tell a difference. If anyone has any ideas please share!
Be careful drawing conclusions from small datasets. RNG is RNG - some people could just be getting unlucky. Looking at the data on the spreadsheet, which is still a small dataset, I'm not seeing anything that clearly influences sector discovery. Yes, some people did do a stat upgrade/downgrade and then immediately find a sector. Others have done the same and not found a new sector. Some have kept their stats the same, doing the same route, and eventually found the new sector.
Btw, the only strong correlation I've found so far from mining the data is that higher favor stat correlates with higher per-sector ratings. That could be because another stat is also high, like survey, and not be related directly to favor at all, but that correlation was clear. I also did a check for rank vs ratings and I didn't see a strong correlation there at all. The ratings were kinda all over the place with various rank ranges. Still, this is with a relatively small dataset (a few hundred voyages).
Also, our data for Retrieval scores may be off =\ I hadn't realized until this weekend that there were two more possibilities - "sub-normal" and "low" - so those weren't options in the chart until now...
Yeah, I'm with you on not jumping to conclusions. I'd like to optimally sift through the data to find trips with and without discovering sectors and then compare their stats but unfortunately all of the data is confounded by other stats, rank and changing ship parts. Because of this, no two flights are really ever the same and so they can't be directly compared. I realize that some people are going to get the short end of the stick with RNG but it'd be nice to know that it's only RNG and that there's nothing else they could do. It's also somewhat convoluted in that sectors can only be discovered once which limits the total number of data points we can really get for it.
Yeah... Since we have the current sector unlocks in a standard format, we could put the unlocked sectors into a standard format as well in a new column, and then run a formula that only looked at unlock possibilities, but I don't even know what qualities to test against...
Oh, wait a minute, is "Survey Time" affected by the Survey stat? I just realized it wasn't fixed, but seems to be related to a stat (I think it's survey, not speed) and the sector's rating.
Flight number is fairly correlated to the rank of a ship. More flights typically means more exp. I can personally attest that discovery is not directly related to number of flights to a sector tho.
Its possible that higher stats actually reduce the chance of finding a sector, or perhaps even a specific part is needed, theres just no telling right now.
Sector 20 discovered from sector 19. Its to the NE of sector 19. Require 90 surveillance
We're having the same problem. Rank 32, visiting 5 and 6 every day but STILL no sectors 7~10. ><

Thank you guys for the updates! The SS Rubber Ducky is caught in sector discovery limbo (still trying to unlock 13 and 14), so we are woefully behind now. But if you keep the reports coming in on new items and sector discoveries, I'll keep updating the guide! I've updated the sector details and sector maps with all the new information over the last week.
Posting or entering data into the guide both work for sharing your reports, I check both the comments and the spreadsheet.
I'm also enjoying reading all the speculation about sector unlocks, that appears to be the looming question related to stats at the moment. Like Nyalia, I've done some analysis (mostly manually since I'm not a spreadsheet wizard) based on our data and I haven't been able to learn anything new. My best guess is still that it is heavily RNG. I also removed forecastle recommendations from the guide given the lack of support one way or the other. But I still have a lot of curiosity over whether surveillance, favor, or some other stat can contribute to your chances, so keep on observing!
Seems to be a lot of RNG. We've had good luck with the 15>19>20 path, but terrible luck with the 10>12>16.... path. Took forever to unlock 12 and we still havent been able to unlock 16.
So, it looks like the following is a valid sector map so far (underlined sectors unlock new airship slots):
Code:SC14
-> SC01 -> SC03 ^
|
-> SC02 -> SC05 -> SC06 -> SC11 -> SC13 -> SC15 -> SC19 -> SC20
| |
v v
SC04 SC07 -> SC10 -> SC12 -> SC16 -> SC17 -> SC18
|
v
SC08 -> SC09
