most content doesn;t start till 20 like the path companions which is why they made 1-20 a bit faster. Which ois a good idea You gotta hook people at the early levels or else they quick if the game isn't fun or takes too long to see content.

oh guys fyi 14 is good for raise because grand company rank missions start @ 22. thgis is also why 1-20 does take long. 1-10 is the same as 1-10 in ffxi (pre exp update)
I come from FFXI and I thought lv25 was a perfect level for raise, but still, you guys are just ASKING for reasons to complain. Lv14 is fine. Lv38 was ridiculous but seriously it's just a revive spell it's not like they're getting a movement speed buff or something significant.
Why do you guys think time spent = skill? You want us to spend a few days instead of a few hours to get raise, how does that make the game harder? everyone will have raise regardless.
Gotta say I totally agree with the OP, this is an RPG and an MMO at that... it shouldn't be 1-50 in 3 days of grinding and raise at 14?! 14 can be achieved in an hour... Tailoring your game to suit all is great, but this game is already easy/casual enough for the gamers who have only 30 mins a day to play.
SE might aswell just start us all off at rank 50 with all abilities with the way this is going....
The majority of MMO players (that I speak with) like to feel like they've earned something not have it handed to them on a plate. The very essense of an RPG/MMO is the achievements and earning of skills, growing stronger (in whatever class or craft etc) and completing missions etc etc... If this is all quickly easily achieved and there isn't any challenge then what's the point!? So... yeah I understand what I think the OP is getting at, it's not just this one spell being too low he/she is complaing about it's the entire game being made easier and easier ensuring no sense of achievement or accomplishment is felt.
Final Fantasy XI took it to the extreme and made things very hard to achieve and now XIV is doing the same but in the opposite direction... There has to be a middle ground, I'm beginning to believe that complaining in forums about gripes is all it takes for SE to change the game in ways to make it even more easy.
I have found RPGs that have taken longer to finish the main story. Achieving a high enough rank to complete the main story in an MMO shouldn't be achievable in a few days. Those of you who played FFXI will know exaclty what I mean.
(For the record I'm NOT one of those people who want another FFXI clone, FFXI has been used solely as a reference)
This game is way to easy/quick to complete FACT, don't make things even more easily achievable.

You are out numbered and your nit picking is getting rather obnoxious.
my late reply is late
maybe ffxi fans are real killer of FFXIV
they want obsolet things in ffxi on ffxiv, what are you thinking?
maybe you hare hardocore, has no life, you think spend time in ridicuolous thing are skill player???
rank lvl 14 for raise is good, people that wanna raise rank 25 back to play ffxi
Final Fantasy XI took it to the extreme and made things very hard to achieve
nothing in ffxi was hard to get. Just took long to get. But with time you will eventually get it.
leveling from 1-14 is still "work" so yes you are still earning raise.
Not everyone levels in ffxiv the same way. And even still who parties @ 14? I have never seen any party only shouts from 1 person every 4 days on a raptor party @ 48. It is a raise spell meaning you will target someone.
1-10 in ffxi = 1-20 in ffxiv.
Honestly also " it's the entire game being made easier and easier ensuring no sense of achievement or accomplishment is felt." is a flat out lie.
Sence of achievemt and accomplishment is subjective to the individual player, same as enjoyment AND difficaulty. You can not generalise these terms. If you feel this game is not challening you, move on. Do not sit there and make claims like the above.
You do not need something to be "hard" or "take a long time" to feel like you did something worthy.
I got a sence of achievement and accomplishment just by helping others. It made me feel good That I was able to help another player. Even if it was something basic like showing them a shop because they was lost.
Lets use Zelda as an example. Nothing in these games to me is remotely hard. But i did feel good when I beat the bosses. And bosses in these games are pretty simple and follow a similar formular. Get three massive blows on the boss you win, only thing they did was use theatrics to make it not that simple.
Honestly, 25 for raise in FFXI pissed me off so much. It would have been so nice to have that spell in the dunes when you actually needed it. It didnt matter after lvl sync tho, because the odds of your party having a raise were pretty good then.
Still, i dont understand why unlocking it relatively early is a bad thing. It's not like its a beneficial spell to partying. It only eases the death penalty a bit. If they were giving us tier 3 nukes at 14, id understand, but they're giving us a simple raise. Is it really that big of a deal?
Getting a stupid ability that allows you to raise other people is not "earning something" or having "worked for something"...
This would imply that I should feel accomplished for getting Provoke 2 as a Tank but oh...what a surprise...getting Provoke 2 didn't even get me for a second there...its a 08/15 ability that is so "normal", that there is no reason for me to feel "accomplished" about it...
Add CONTENT that takes work/skill to complete, then we can talk about accomplishments, not ranking a stupid class to a stupid rank...cause that's what everyone does anyway...so if you feel like you "accomplished" something by merely ranking a class, you must be mroe casual than you like to admit...cause I don't look at ranks as an "accomplishment" even in the slightest...as a Battle Class its about the stuff I killed, as a crafter its about the stuff I HQed, as a gatherer its about the rare items I can get...its NEVER about me being 50...cause everyone hits 50 at some point...
How can you feel a sense of achievement without a challenge? Also when I reach a rank to unlock something 'cool' like raise or a level II/III spell within an hour of playing I definitely don't feel like I've earned it and it doesn't feel 'special'.
My post was a generalisation and not about a particular spell or ability.
If people read my post properly they'd see I said FFXI was TOO much and that XIV was the opposite. I'm far from a basement no lifer but if you aren't willing to grind and strife to achieve something in an RPG maybe you're playing the wrong sort of game.
Did i miss a note where a Raise spell is an achievement now ? there is nothing special about raise and there is no need to feel like you are achieving something because the spell doesnt even matter unless you play with a group that suck so bad, they dies so many times.
and kilta please don't respond to my posts in future and i'll pay you the same respect. I don't have time for trolls.
Can't believe people care so much about something so stupid.
How about this, if you don't think people should be raised at rank 14, don't raise them. That's right, you let them run back from the aetherite for the sake of 'building character' and we'll see how much people like you.
Inconvenience does not equal challenge, I can't believe how often that has to be said.
lol Ilean anyone who knows how to use a forum can see that you're a troll too... if you don't have anything about the OP to say then don't say anything at all
also the recast timer on raise really really sucks. you have a group of 4 or more its going to take you 20 min to raise everyone =/
